    Front bag battery locking?

According to the specs on your bike, it's supposed to have a Bicycle Only mode, which I assume means you just pedal it. These bikes seldom have instructions, so you might want to fool around w/ all the settings and see if it has that. There also may be a way to take the plastic box off the...

    Front bag battery locking?

I'd put a rack on the back and mount the battery there w/ some big stainless steel hose clamps from an auto store. If you put in a big Wald's basket you would have a place to pack stuff as well. Yes, they make clamps that big, I have them around my bottle battery. I'd also bugger up the threads...

    Shopping at LBS during lockdown

I have no idea what a LBS or a fora is. Good luck w/ your eBike search..

    Toilet paper on my ebikes

Be careful on that seat post. I turned mine around backwards to get a better angle for my rear end, and whilst crossing a street the part that attaches to the seat broke in half! I was lucky to not drop the bike. Thank goodness this happened at low speed when coming from a dead stop. On my bike...

    Laser tail light

If it's brighter, it's better and safer. Those lines on the road don't look very bright though. I would prefer a really, really bright taillight combined w/ a brake light feature. That's long overdue on bikes, we all need a brake light too.

    Specialized Vado 3 Brake Upgrade??

That's a handy tool for setting the brake pad clearance, but how much time does it take to adjust the brakes on a caliper anyway? Not long. Run them in until they're tight, back them off a little, spin the wheels to check, and you're good to go. The rotor has to run true to begin any sort of...

Ebikemotion X35 and SRAM AXS 12 speed

I don't know why anyone would need 12 speeds even w/o a motor unless they lived someplace like San Francisco or something.

    4 wheel 'rowing' bike ?

It shouldn't cost $3,000, it's not that much different than a regular bike in terms of complicated assembly or materials. Surely a god send to anyone w/ disability issues, as is the hand pedal bike, but more efficient? Can't see how. Probably less so.

Is the frame type (diamond, step-trough) still relevant for stability

Well, it's a rare day when I know what I'm talking about, but I've learned to fake it pretty well. Like my ex wife used to say, if you can't dazzle 'em w/ brilliance, baffle 'em with BS.

Battery voltage is not linear with watt-hours

I have an eBike w/ the 5 LED readouts for telling me what it thinks the remaining power might be. It's obviously pretty nuts, and that seems to be the consensus on all the LED type readouts of battery monitoring except for the high end Cycle Analyst . Maybe your LED readout apparatus is...

Is the frame type (diamond, step-trough) still relevant for stability

That Honda Super Cub is drop dead gorgeous. Much nicer than anything being made today or in the last 30 years. Personally, I've never heard of a step thru frame exhibiting wobble or instability on a bike or a motorcycle. Maybe it happens, but in over half a century of riding both, no one I knew...

Hypermiling - settings to modify to get extreme range

I don't think speed is much of an influence on range because even top speed on a bike is pretty darned slow compared to say a car or truck which has much more wind resistance. Drafting is another matter, and we're talking about almost no wind when you do that. You might want to see my post...

Interesting read, bike not virus related!

Very interesting article. This bike sport that they talk about in the article sounds very much like the Japanese. Micro manage every detail down to the smallest thing, and follow the herd. I had some Japanese friends when I lived in Hawaii, and my boss was Japanese. They had never run into...

Stamped steel crank sprockets vs machined

Thanks. That makes sense. I was concerned that possibly the narrower stamped steel rings might place too much load in the middle of the chain rollers vs spreading it our further with the thicker machined sprockets, but that's probably a non factor.

Driving bike thru fast food drive up during quarantine era

I got hollered at 20 or 30 years ago for trying to do a drive up order on my bike at a McDonald's. Haven't tried it since. As for Chic Fil A, I avoid them and Hobby Lobby like the plague. I really do not need to hear about their religious views to buy a pencil or get an order of fries. Keep that...

Why doesn't an expensive bike come with a half-decent manual?

"Using the product would just wear it out before the warrenty period ends, so it is in the interest of the vendor to prevent you from using the product." Thank you for this concisely worded (dare I saw lawyerly) insight. I suspect most things are like this, which explains a lot about life.

Stamped steel crank sprockets vs machined

My bike's getting to the point where I will soon need to replace the driveline. My low end eBike has stamped steel sprockets on the crankset (all in one w/ non removable sprockets), and I see that the higher quality cranksets have sprockets that are machined. Is there any benefit to the machined...

    Foot Cramps?

Try experimenting with placing your feet in different positions on the pedals. I was experiencing soreness in the arches of my feet (and second the idea of using flat pedals w/o those saw like teeth grippers on them). My problem was probably caused by decades of pushing down on the pedals w/ my...

Wary of public transport: Americans turn to bikes

Odd, I'm noticing a big increase in bike traffic, but we're having beautiful weather right now, and Tucson is a bike friendly place. Lots of bike lanes, and tons of bike riders and bike shops (which all seem to be open, thank goodness). A public bus stops right outside my home, and it's nearly...

    Fastest/strongest bike under $2000???

I'll second the idea that problems might occur w/ a bike that looks too much like a scooter or smallish motorcycle. The X Class is a heck of a good performer and I like it's looks and price, but it gives up too much in the stealth factor. That sure looks like Florida in the youtube video. Flat...
