    Vado SL 5.1 GQ, a 27.5/650b “Gravel-Queen”

A 700x42 Pathfinder tire will fit in the fork of the SL with fenders. However, we found that the largest tire that would fit in the back with the stock rack and fenders was 700x38 due to contact with the small bolt in the center of the rear rack that attaches it to the fender. If you remove that...

    Vado SL 5.1 GQ, a 27.5/650b “Gravel-Queen”

Stefan - You can use any combination of flipping the handlebars, inverting the stem, removing spacers, and using the short “duckbill” top cap to lower the bars. The largest change is made by inverting the stem. If you don’t need to lower your handlebars more than 30mm below the stock setup you...

    Vado SL 5.1 GQ, a 27.5/650b “Gravel-Queen”

@Rás Cnoic - The pic above with the seatstay bridge is my Large Vado SL 5. The seattube on the Large size is longer than on mrs levity’s Medium, so the seatstays are longer and attach higher up allowing space for a separate bridge. Yes, the SL4 uses different rims. I don’t know if they are...

    Vado SL 5.1 GQ, a 27.5/650b “Gravel-Queen”

@Rás Cnoic – Your bike photo makes it pretty obvious why you need fenders in the UK! And, yes, 700x40 is about as large a tire as you can fit under them. re bottom bracket height – Specialized shouldn’t be concerned about using 650b wheels with larger tires. The Vado SL has less bb drop than a...

    Vado SL 5.1 GQ, a 27.5/650b “Gravel-Queen”

Thanks to all for the kind comments. Mrs levity is enjoying the bike, and as they say "Happy Queen, Happy Life"! @BioWheel - Yes. that's a Timber Bell on the handlebars. Re the derailleur clutch: we're mountain bikers at heart so it's always on. And what is the "mud" stuff of which you speak...

    Vado SL 5.1 GQ, a 27.5/650b “Gravel-Queen”

We decided to convert Mrs levity’s Vado SL EQ to a GQ, i.e. make it a gravel bike “fit for a Queen”. We used bits we’d saved from her previously modified Vado 6 and Creo to customize a new Medium sized SL: EQ parts: Remove the lights and fenders since we’re fair weather riders in southern...

    Shipping of Vado SL 5

We’ve used Bikeflights several times to ship and receive bikes, but no ebikes thus far. Service was smooth and flawless. We always add insurance, but we have not had to make a claim ( fortunately) so I can’t comment on that.

Dang! Let us know how it turns out so we’d can be prepared.

SOLVED: Can't increase/decrease Creo power and can't turn OFF

Maybe just unplug the TCU to attempt a cold reboot? In any event riding it with the Power on but no assist just requires a little more rider input. 😆

Bouncy seat post on the Creo Expert?

As mschwett says you have to get your weight on your feet/legs and off the seat when it's rough. Completely off when really rough. If I wasn't using a PNW 90mm dropper post and Ergon SMC Core Prime saddle I'd probably to with a Specialized CG-R ("Cobbler Gobbler") post to help with seated comfort.

How gnarly can you get on an Expert Creo before it breaks?

I'll second what Allan47.7339 and jodi2 said above and add that the frame has a lifetime warranty (crashes not covered!). I have about 2,400 miles of mixed riding on my Comp Carbon EVO and haven't had any issues off-pavement. I run 700x47 Speciaized Tracer tires - these provide more cushion and...

VADO SL - convert to 27,5 wheels

The Vado SL come stock with lower end Pathfinder Sport tires. I don’t see a weight listed for them, but they are probably slightly heavier than the Pathfinder Pro version which weighs 480g in 700x38. The Schwalbe G-One Speed tires in 27.5x2.0 weigh 400g (V-Guard) or 500g (V-Guard/Snakeskin)...

VADO SL - convert to 27,5 wheels

Mrs levity and I switched to 27.5 wheels, wider tires, and a better fork on our regular Vados and liked the result. You can see more here: httpwiders://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/vado-bado-with-27-5-wheels.26904/#post-183527 DT Swiss makes adaptors to convert a hub from a 15mm to...

    Vado SL external battery

Thanks for the correction and info, @Rincon . 👌 My comment was based on wattage draw from an external power source. I saw the same draw using the splitter cable to both as I saw when charging only the main battery and concluded, incorrectly, that there was no benefit. The charger seems to be...

new turbo creo comp carbon rider, a few questions!

^^ @Vamos - To access zero power assist: Hold the upper TCU button in for ~2 sec to turn off assist. Power remains on. Press button again briefly and power will return in Eco mode and normal operation.

new turbo creo comp carbon rider, a few questions!

Good to hear that you're feeling the stoke, @mschwett! Hope you keep it going! Re wheels and tires: The R470s are already a pretty light wheelset, ~1650g. I'm not sure you'd notice much difference going to a slightly lighter carbon set especially since the Creo is itself heavy and it has a...
