Bouncy seat post on the Creo Expert?

The Expert build comes with the Roval Terra Carbon Seat Post which has a 20mm Offset. I’ve got 43 Pathfinders on the bike and pumped them up a little higher (35 psi) for some pavement and hard pack gravel on last night’s ride. On the gravel, there were some ruts and potholes and I noticed what I thought was some extended bouncing on the bike's rear end. Not sure if it was just the spacing/frequency of the ruts or what, but it was definitely a new sensation for me! Anyone notice this? I'd rather a seat post soak up the bumps, not make it more pronounced and extend them. Haven't been on any washboard gravel yet, which is probably the true test.

hard to say if that's the right pressure without knowing your weight, etc (for gravel on tubeless (?) 43mm tires, 35psi is about right for a 170lb rider on a creo) but occasionally the frequency of bumps corresponds to a natural resonance of the bike-rider system... a carbon seatpost and bike are good at soaking up certain frequencies of vibrations, and not too effective on others.

my creo has a different carbon post than yours (a specialized non-roval carbon post), and i have a wheelset with 42mm knobbies, and i don't think i've ever noticed any unusual bouncing or vibration compared to other hardtail bikes. riding a bike without suspension on rutted roads is just a bouncy thing though! time to get out of the saddle :)

As mschwett says you have to get your weight on your feet/legs and off the seat when it's rough. Completely off when really rough.

If I wasn't using a PNW 90mm dropper post and Ergon SMC Core Prime saddle I'd probably to with a Specialized CG-R ("Cobbler Gobbler") post to help with seated comfort.

On my Creo, I use a Canyon S15 VCLS, which is a carbon leaf spring and utterly awesome. It is also known as Ergon CF3. It gives a lovely bit on movement to match the Furture shock. They are not cheap, but so worth it.
