buy a heat gun from Harbor Freight...lowest setting, or use a hair dryer. Unplug every connector and use it to dry. Before reconnecting, put in dialectric grease. Rad has instructions for reconnecting connectors.

Why Americans, particularly millennials, have fallen out of love with cars

Cars are expensive and boring. One commercial even is bold enough to mention how boring they all are...except for their head turner, of course. Please. I don't even own a car...just two Jeeps, which work for a living all winter, plowing the white flakes....and pay for themselves. In contrast...

    New Bike Announcements

The changes make sense, a lot of which many of us, myself included, have addressed on our own. Flatproofing tires, done. Higher top gear, done. The taillight mod is what commuters really need. For myself, as a road rider, no. Someone said early on, before I decided to buy, that batteries had...

when will prices come down out of the stratosphere?

My Rad City was $2k, including a spare battery! If someone wants to spend more, that's ok.

    What's your dream ebike?

Happy with Rad City, and happy that I can easily turn it into a road bike. It's a nice solid platform that easily adjusts to a laid out position...sort of the opposite from that most owners do. The best part is that it only cost $2k, with an extra battery!

    Ergon grips

Had GP-3's for a while, but removed in favor of drop bar extensions. Ergons are well made.

Nordic countries getting a charge out of eBikes

The thousand Euro subsidy is nice, too...almost as if the government cares

Batteries: Less charging cycles or using less battery capacity?

Here's some recent experience on depowering a battery. As winter sets in, and my snowplow is the equipment I'm focusing on, I need to take some charge out of one of my batteries, currently measured at 87%. Elsewhere was a suggestion to drain via the usb port, with a fan or uncharged tablet...

Will Dyson come out with an E-Bike ? Well, one vacuum company already has...

Well, to respectfully disagree, while it may be true that anyone can put two (¡powered!) wheels together and call it a bicycle, is it road/trail worthy and fun to ride? The market must be there for so many others to jump in... Case in point: Gtech...rim brakes...really? No display other than on...

Electric Bicycle Fatalities & Injuries Are Rising

Unfortunately, the ebike can be used to speed a rider well past their bike handling experience...all exhilarating until those pesky stops and turns. I'd be a fool to attempt trail riding, for example, when my entire riding experience has been on paved roads...I'd be starting over. Traffic...

Electric Bicycle Fatalities & Injuries Are Rising

This is a motorized vehicle. Knowing how to ride a bicycle is not enough...there are other things that must be learned. Stopping at speed takes practice...any higher speed than you're used to travelling, combined with riding a heavier vehicle.

    Help; bulge in sidewall

I've got 700 miles on stock Rad City Kendas run at 80/90# all street riding. One caveat...cloth rim tape is necessary at those pressures. They're fine...Schwalbe Marathons will be my next tire, in a much narrower width...1.5" probably. Schwalbe should stand behind a bulged tire.

    Bea my new love

Wie Gehts! Nice bike! Looks like a terror on the road... I'm turning a city commuting bike into a roadster...the drop extensions work well, and the adjustable stem lets me stretch out. Brooks B17 saddle. Next, road pedals and narrow tires.

How do you plan to fix a roadside flat?

I carry AAA for the plow Jeeps, so it's there if I need it. AAA Plus will tow up to 100 miles. Other than that, it's Bike-On liquid and Velox rim tape on my 80/90# Kendas.

    Setback Seatpost for Brooks Saddle

B17 forever! Wasted a bit of cash before going back to the tried and true...300mi. on the saddle, and it is more comfortable than the highly praised newcomers. I'm forward and more laid out with an adjustable stem, so setback is not an issue.

Actually, ebikes will get you much LESS exercise

This is the silliest thread...we ebike devotees rush to the bait...what they don't know is that we generate our own electricity on treadmills at home before loading it into our batteries...heehee

commuting jacket "armor" type stuff? road rash protection?

He's nuts...I've hit a deer on a motorbike at that speed, wearing full protection, and two scrapes still went to the bone. I walked away, only because the plastic bike fairing and plexi windshield broke into little pieces, absorbing tons of force. The bike was totalled.
