Where is the problem located at?

I don’t see in the discussion yet if this happens when the bike does not have 45 pounds of cargo. As others have mentioned I’d be concerned about the headset, h various bearings, trueness of wheels, etc. post a picture of the bike?

    What does Mahle SmartAssist do?

mahle doesn’t go into too much detail about how it really works, but it is a completely separate mode, and can theoretically vary assist from maximum to nothing depending on how hard you’re pedaling, the road conditions, speed, and previous behavior on the same or similar routes. i turned it on...

    Simply cannot decide?

edit : I see now that you’re in the UK, so the top assist speeds may in fact be the same for these two bikes.

    Simply cannot decide?

hi! as @Jeremy McCreary mentioned, i previously had a creo, and now have an addict. it was originally the eRide 10 but i upgraded quite a few bits and pieces. my creo started life as a comp carbon but i upgraded the bars, saddle, post, wheels, tires, cassette, chainring, etc to the level of the...

    Vado 4.0 Sale Price

nope. they made too many bikes during the bike boom, and now have to get rid of them. profit margins are low or fading, and it won't be surprising to see some significant changes, consolidation, bankruptcies, etc. keep in mind that they laid off a significant amount of their workforce last year...

    Vado 4.0 Sale Price

at the moment, in the US it’s $2750 vs $5000… the differences in the components don’t justify that IMO, it’s not like the 5 is rocking 12 speed dura ace 😂

    E-Bike Computer?

how did it screw everything up? i get calls on the bike all the time, typically just ignore them or tap the red icon. when i do take one on a ride, every ride app i’ve used just continues in the background. i’ve even done a zoom while on a ride, works just fine lol

    What's an "SUV" ebike?

i'm not sure what the origin of the term is, obviously a few forumers like to use it. but i'd say it's very similar to the nature of an SUV in the automotive world. relatively large, heavy, capable of carrying people and cargo comfortably, moderately powerful but not built for absolute speed...

Ah, so THAT'S what's holding me back!

going twice as fast takes half the time! use bikecalculator to see a more nuanced expression of it, you’ll see that it shows around 6x the instantaneous power to travel at 50 than 25kph (since not all resistance comes from wind), which means it’s only 3x the total work done to go 50km. 550w for...

My chain is jumping off the chain ring on my Creo

i had one chain drop on my other specialized bike where i could NOT figure out how the chain possible got where it got, wound through the chainring, seemingly completely impossible to remove without opening up the chain. sort of like one of those escher drawings with no obvious way that a...

Ah, so THAT'S what's holding me back!

it's a really nice bike. easy to get lost in the minor fussy details and traditions of road bikes (of which i have no historical nostalgia!) but there certainly are some intangibles about a bike like the aethos that can't be fully explained by weight, aerodynamics (or the lack thereof!) and so...

Ah, so THAT'S what's holding me back!

food can be a strong motivator lol. i think my best hour was probably 240 watts or so, best 3 hours without stopping around 210. best 6 with one stop probably not quite 200. but it's interesting to think that the capacity of an average human over a couple hours is similar to a large ebike battery!

Ah, so THAT'S what's holding me back!

i’m back to the non-electric s-works aethos for most fully recreational rides, but i ride the scott addict e-ride for more ambitious rides, whenever time is of the essence or i’m not feeling great, and at times of day when meds are not fully effective. it’s a far cry from the adventure of...

Ah, so THAT'S what's holding me back!

yep. (close to) cubed. physics is a harsh mistress. luckily energy to travel a given distance is closer to squared at twice the speed since the time you’re expending that much-greater-level-of-energy is thankfully half as long 🤣🤣🤣🤣 an interesting (to me) personal anecdote. since my reappearing...

Using Di2 hood buttons to control motor assist level? YES AND SOLVED!

that would be nice! it’s really ridiculous that big manufacturers like specialized and trek sell these bikes with di2 and then add kludgy power control buttons with extra wires. just lazy.

Specialized Turbo - No Security Features Working and now No App Connection.....fixed.

most likely both, lol. they’re mostly aware of all the issues caused by various combinations of bike version, firmware version, and apps but have deemed it a low priority to fix problems that, left unresolved, might encourage the purchased of new bikes 🤣

My chain is jumping off the chain ring on my Creo

it was kind of a m’eh feature for me, i don’t notice a huge difference in shifting but also never had dropped chains once i switched to the wolftooth chainring. so, good results either way, either way!

Vado 4.0. Change seat post due to short legs.

you might consider running it as low as it goes for a while (agree with leaving a small gap!) and then raising it a few mm every week or two as you get comfortable with the bike, until you reach the more optimum position with nearly full leg extension at bottom of pedaling circle. but no need...
