Biking is painful: e-biking is NOT

I never see runners smiling at all, but there seems to always be mobs of them. It's certainly not my place to determine what is fun for some people and not for others

    New RockShox for 2020

FOX's Grip2 is better than what Roxshox is putting out these days. They'll catch up, and then the lead will reverse. Meanwhile, the smaller guys will continue to innovate.... Same story as ever, just a different chapter

A Repeat Regulation / Law Question...

There are? Maybe I'm dense, but I don't see any. §2085. Low-speed electric bicycles (a) Construction Notwithstanding any other provision of law, low-speed electric bicycles are consumer products within the meaning of section 2052(a)(1) 1 of this title and shall be subject to the Commission...

A Repeat Regulation / Law Question...

Since the CPSA is only concerned with defining what can be sold as a "low-speed electric bicycle", there isn't any mention regarding if they are or aren't motor vehicles, or being equivalent to bicycles. The best thing to come out of the Class laws is redefining ebikes as not being a motor...

    28 mph is FAST!

Ride as fast as you're willing to crash. Most people have little experience with crashing, so when they do, they're usually in way over their heads.

Are Electric Mountain Bikes Ruining Trail Systems?

Another article where the author didn't do their homework and read the laws, just wrote down what people with a vested interest told them. With a clickbait title.

Article on the Mighty Bafang Ultra

They are a lobbying organization funded by the bike companies, they only want to make it easier to sell ebikes, they aren't concerned with usage, or what is the most logical way to make it all work. I doubt anyone will challenge the state vs federal law thing because no one cares enough, no...

Article on the Mighty Bafang Ultra

It's the best solution for putting the same ebike laws in place in all 50 states so the bike companies can sell ebikes.

Is Staggering Tires a growing trend???

I don't think it's necessarily just a tradition thing, I don't think it pays the same dividends on an acoustic bike that it does on an ebike. Not as much torque to the rear wheel primarily. For guys like me, who rotate front tires to the back as they wear, I always found that to be offputting too.

Considerable amount of E-bike brands, discounting their mid drive models

Part of it is normal industry shakeout as everyone jumps in to try to grab sales and some guys don't make it. Part of it is that ebikes are more susceptible to technology creep than an ordinary bicycle as the latest and greatest in the motor wars are released every year.

Is Staggering Tires a growing trend???

Sort of. The reason the electric mountain bike makers are saying they are doing it is greater traction in the rear when climbing, and more precision up front than if they ran a matching 2.75+ tire. Same concept for a dirt bike, although to a much lesser degree.

ASE declares bankruptcy. All 105 Performance Bike stores nationwide to close. ASE owns brands Fuji, SE, Kestrel, Breezer, Phat Cycles, Tuesday Cycles

I bought a Breezer Radar frame for $400 a few weeks ago from Nashbar, they're dumping already.

    The Rise of Electric Scooters.

They do? They don't have pedals, so I don't see how the ebike rules would have any bearing. At least the scooters the OP was talking about.
