Thanks for the write up, with pictures. That "captive washer" is probably a torque arm to help prevent the motor from twisting in the frame.

I suspect mine will travel thousands of miles on the first charge. The second charge will likely be less miles, but more fun ;) I'd guestimate 10-60 miles, depending on how you use it.

Did moving the torque washer fix your problem?

It would not surprise me if factory did something wrong.

just move the torque washers outside the frame???

Could that be problem solved?
