Installed Corn Head Grease in my new Luna Z1 Bafang Ultra Mag

Thanks for the general pointer on fastener torque based on Msize. Like the weight savings in the M600 but maybe they used a weaker bearing spec for the lower power vs Ultra and it's not holding up.

Installed Corn Head Grease in my new Luna Z1 Bafang Ultra Mag

Lack of grease and noise was disappointing but the worst with the M600 is the external bearings getting gritty and failing. Would love to find a high quality bearing set to replace and skills on the right bearing puller/mounter technique. m@Robertson: Have seen crush on my gaskets. Haven't...

Agree about the maintenance hassle for these ebikes. My sense it's primarily many parts aren't sorted for long/smooth operating life, design is simple with inadequate seals and the other thing is so many things seem soft and weak. Hopefully some of the newer motors from Fazua or TQ can be...

Here's the detailed list of bearings in the unit. Would expect a bearing puller my be required. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2323768714344360/posts/3357076131013608

Gearbox sealing and bearing quality is really disappointing in these bafang motors. Definitely recommend the Bafang M620 FB group for bearing info. A great contributor there designed a 3d print cover for the worst area around the crank on the drive side. This post is one of many, lots of...

Wattwagons has the OEM parts to replace it.

Bex your experience mirrors mine, especially on weekday rides great to be able to do 10-12 scenic miles in an hour with some strong assist. I'm 168 (wannabe 160) so power consumption difference may be weight. BTW I'm in Carmel which I think is near you, would be good to plan a ride somewhere...

Despite all the harsh rhetoric going around got a tough ride in recently and was impressed with what the Hydra with Innotrace Archon controller can do. Almost 6k vertical feet and almost 20mi with a little over 30% battery left. Below are the tuning params I have set for assist 1-3. Roughly...

That's the nut that fell off mine. Would suggest submitting a ticket with WW. They might be able to help. When the nut came off in my case it was a cyclical metal on metal grinding sound on wheel rotations. Not sure exactly what was grinding but probably brake disc on something. Good to...

Sorry that's such a PITA, it's also known as a 108X throttle and you can search on Amazon/eBay for options. If you don't want to mess with customizing/soldering connector take a look at the original link. Also be sure the side you want, original throttle is left hand.

FYI for the throttle source. They were great to deal with and price is reasonable. https://california-ebike.com/shop/bafang-standard-thumb-throttle-left/

Got the left hand throttle bexamous recommended and it's smooth with ability to feather power in gently. Ergonomics feels better than stock as well. Here's a pic of it with the Highline dropper remote I have mounted above bar.

That makes sense, the nuts with the bike are machined to have a wide-smooth flush fit in the suspension recess to avoid grabbing anything but peace of mind and carrying backup nylon nuts would be handy. Do you have the threading and size for most of the pivots?

Acme is right, the nut inside my rear swingarm pivot fell off in just a few weeks. Need to blue loctite and torque check all the pivots, shock attachments and other fasteners that need it.

The ergonomics and feel of the throttle feel better than stock. May need to replace the hall sensor to really get it to put out a smooth signal. With the Archon power it would be great to have smooth throttle control ability in rocky or rutty situations where pedal movement is limited.

I'm hooking up that same left throttle this weekend. Previously switched to the Highline Dropper remote above bar which I think works well and allows any mounting position if needed. Got the idea from Lode Crommen on the FB Bafang G510/M620 group.

Yes the Crank Brothers highline remote can mount anywhere top/bottom/left/right. I think he's right that throttle on the bottom and dropper remote on top is safest. If you crash less risk to bump the throttle when it's under the bar.

It's using the 108x throttle which is supposed to be compatible with Bafang's throttle. I ordered this version from eBay which looks like it has the right connector type and length for the Hydra but won't be able to confirm till it arrives probably around Dec 15...

He also came up with a really compact setup with Crank Brothers dropper remote and Innotrace display/controller.

Lode Crommen on the G510 Facebook group figured out some good ergonomics for the throttle.
