The OP's photo is very clear: the pannier rack accessory is factory fabricated by welds and it is one solid piece. This is all the black parts of the rack, not the chrome horizontal parts which are always adjustable by fasteners. I believe you may be confused with a "rack" that is welded...

Not if the rack is a single piece weld with no height adjustment. Racks are sold in different sizes for respective tire diameters. Unadjustable racks are also the strongest in weight bearing loads. A pannier rack can't be hacked to any location on a bike. There are distinctive holes for it...

Like many things on the "internets", take it with a grain of salt. When a buyer really wants something, they either pay for it, or don't and forget about it. Confident dealers/flippers will pretty much ignore a buyer's price match plea on some website.

Why not? It makes the call wheter the rider rides their bike with as much fun as possible, or stores their bike in the garage forever.

The LBS did nothing wrong and this is a correct install. A panier rack accepts its maximum load when it is horizontally flat, the arms fastening to the frame/seatpost are as long as they need to be.

Similarly, the Thule Tour Rack also attaches to stays/forks without fasteners to the frame.

In my opinion, ebikes are "costly" things, you are currently in the progress of breaking it. Your LBS will charge a fraction of the costs of your bike.

This is normal operation and cannot be changed. You dare to leave it unattended? If you really must take that chance, leaving the battery on the bike also allows the thief to ride away happy with it.

But folks that buy a Movelo mountain bike from Walmart for $89 don't think about resale value. When someone convinces themselves "I'll buy this Ford because it has great resale value" is merely making the dealership happy.

Folks with money do what they do best: buy stuff on impulse. The pandemic has made and still is making people just "try something for fun". They buy a Trek because it has to be in par with the rest of their trophies. They get bored of it, and move onto something else they can spend money on...

The thing about "resale value" pretty much goes with everything, not just ebikes: Don't buy an item thinking it must keep value after time. It's not a brick of gold you buy and leave stashed away for a rainy day. Your return on investment will be on usage, the amount of true value and purpose...

Same reason why people buy bicycles at Walmart...
