    2021–2022 Riese & Müller Homage

I’m pretty sure I paid less than half that for mine (625Wh horizontal travel cover). But since I’d probably want two for transporting the bike on rack in the rain, yeah, 100$ US sounds about right for a pair.

Fortnine study: Are electric bikes more dangerous than motorcycles?

Same. I’m close to a bike trail network that could take me to work and back. And it would take about the same amount of time as it would by car, despite being a couple miles longer than the car trip which takes a more direct route. I’m honestly tempted to give it a try once some semblance of...

    Rohloff kit transformation?

You’re the second person to point that out in this thread to me. But yes, I‘m aware the shifter is rebadged. I was just trying to be concise with my comment. That‘s exactly why I wish they’d offer an electronic twist shifter. The button pad is the weak link in the chain of the E-14. But with an...

Adjuting the power level in each assist mode using Bosch NYON

Yeah, I’m just wondering if the 2021 Nyon might be at a disadvantage using an older receiver chip. The manual says nothing about what constellations it supports, nor does it seem to let you configure it. But it does say it can potentially take a while: Yeah, even the first car units from the...

Adjuting the power level in each assist mode using Bosch NYON

Anyone know what GPS constellations the 2021 MY Nyon supports? With the US, EU and Russia all having their own constellations, I wonder if it's something as simple as slower lock due to not supporting the Galileo constellation, or configured to prefer GLONASS instead? I would hope it supports...

Adjuting the power level in each assist mode using Bosch NYON

A few things can affect lock time: * Location, as WinterKill mentioned. Trees and buildings both block and cause reflections which mess with precision. * Out of date ephemeris data. If the Nyon has to grab updated ephemeris data to get a lock, then it can take up to 30 seconds while it waits for...

    Rohloff kit transformation?

So, I've not spent a ton of time a Rohloff except during a test ride, but I spent years on a road bike with a derailleur (a 21-speed). The main thing that hit me is that the shifting really asks you to be more intentional. What kept tripping me up in the test ride was that I was used to being...

SuperDelite pedals too close to ground :-/

Thanks for pointing that out. It kinda does towards the end: But I guess the system is more sensitive to the torque sensor measurements than I thought, and eMTB mode is especially prone to this. Makes me wonder if this is a case of human power doesn’t vary much, but the torque sensor is...

SuperDelite pedals too close to ground :-/

I'm not seeing anything related to your original question about updates required about crank arm length. So I'm left asking: what case?

SuperDelite pedals too close to ground :-/

Yes, I'm aware of the basics involved here. It's more that I'm not 100% familiar enough to say that the sensor actually measures strain from torque applied, or some sort of analogue that can be assumed to be akin to torque. I'm assuming they are using something like a rotary torque sensor which...

SuperDelite pedals too close to ground :-/

Not sure that would change much, based on the study FlatSix911 shared. If human power output doesn’t vary much based on the crank arm length, it is safe to assume the torque applied to the pedals isn’t varying much either. Assuming it’s actually measuring torque applied.

So I just wanted to follow up now that I’ve got about 150mi on the odometer on this thing. First, you are 100% right on the pedals. Went ahead and had them swapped out with some pedals they had at Dandelion before taking it home, and I’ve had zero complaints with the new pedals. Grip is...

    Riese & Muller vs Gazelle

I recently purchased the Nevo3 GT Vario, although the Gazelle C380 Vario doesn't look too bad at all. But I think it'd be hard for me to give up the beefier CX motor in the Nevo3 already. I live in a hilly neighborhood and that motor has been a real help there. Are you able to test ride these...

Sharing eBike batteries can hurt you post! Not me (Unpleasant picture)

Current ratings for batteries are more about how much current the battery can provide based on the load, before the chemistry either reaches its limits, or starts having a really bad time. Voltage by itself is not really able to do anything. It’s a measurement of potential. Current is what...

    Best Seattle R&M service

I should say I’m not new to bikes, just e-bikes. I grew up riding in the King County suburbs. My problem is that I’ve inherited bad knees and hips which have been a bigger problem in the last few years, and we recently moved to a house on top of a hill that’s not fun to climb on my road bike. So...

    Best Seattle R&M service

Great way to describe it. I’ve been working with Tyler as part of shopping for my first e-bike, and my experiences have been very positive. One thing I run into a lot with sales folks is either an inability/unwillingness to help educate first-time buyers, or an attitude that they know more...
