CLICKING SOUND FROM MOTOR - WHEN PEDALLING AND COASTING

Just watching the first video... I thought I could see something slap the frame around the chainstay area when the tyre rotates... It's not perfectly clear in the video but a flash of black is kind of noticeable for a fraction of a second every time the wheel rotates. Not long enough for me to...

Electric cycle pump for Ebike available in UK?

Second vote here for the Co2 inflators. Halfords have JetValve CO2 Injector for just £10. Small and light. The "Fumpa pumps" look quite interesting tho... or even the Bosch EasyPump

Kickstand jack or handlebar jack or handlebar extensions?

I'm in the UK so not 100% on US retailers but Chain Reaction Cycles have the Nexus/Rohloff version available. It's the only version in stock on the UK version of the Chain Reaction cycles website, but it may show different stock for you guys based in the US. Might also be worth checking out...

Kickstand jack or handlebar jack or handlebar extensions?

I just flip it over and balance it on the tips of my Ergon GP3's :D The bar ends/bull bars of the GP3's stick up far enough to protect the screen and other controls when the bike is inverted. My handlebars are almost 800 wide so it balances pretty well.

What are the most important factors when buying an ebike?

No, you back up a second if you don't mind. He quoted my post which was talking about a 750w Rad being available, and the EU one being 250w. When he was talking about weight I thought he meant between these two options!

What are the most important factors when buying an ebike?

Sorry, I was mistaken, I thought your reply had something to do with this thread so I carried on in that vein. You didn't mention much of this to begin with. For pure weight, yes of course you will notice it. The differences will typically come apparent at the extremity of your abilities.

What are the most important factors when buying an ebike?

I'd say a big difference... My first ebike was 1000w hub drive, with a 250w road legal mode. You could unlock the extra performance with an "unlock code" (change of settings). I didn't have the Unlock Code for the first couple of weeks so got a good feel of it in 250w mode, and I was fairly...

What are the most important factors when buying an ebike?

Good choices Mary.. You'll no doubt like both bikes. Keep in mind when reading reviews that many Rad's will be the US version, which is up to 750w. The EU version will no doubt be limited to 250w. That can make a difference on a nearly 30kg bike!

    Best E-bike drivetrain?

I had the same issue on my bike. I had only done around 250 miles when I noticed the skipping start - and it got progressively worse from there on in. To the point it was unusable - and embarrassing, it's noisey! I changed the front chainring with a larger Wolftooth 46T Chainring (from 40T to...

What are the most important factors when buying an ebike?

It's not too bad really, Bosch Motor, Hub Gears, Hydraulic Brakes, Lights etc... It could be a good candidate! I'm always a little wary of any retailer with names like Bike Discount through! But they could be entirely legit. Maybe worth checking out their reputation.

What are the most important factors when buying an ebike?

I live in slightly hilly area too... Some people love riding up hills but I'm not one of those people. :) In fact the hills were a major contributor to my bike spending most of the year in the garage. That all changed when I got an ebike! :) Now my motorbike spends as much time in the garage...

What are the most important factors when buying an ebike?

Why did you want an ebike to begin with? 1700 will buy you a pretty good traditional bike... But that depends on why you're buying it. If you're a not much of a cyclist (I was into motorbikes more than bikes) - but the thought of electric assistance changed your mind about the whole thing -...

    Frey AM1000 motor fail

I think they changed throttle from zero settings to reduce warranty claims, but many people requested it nonetheless.... It's nice to have but it can increase wear on components.. and you have to be careful as accidently hitting the throttle sends the bike lunging forward.

    My UC Pro has arrived

yeah that won't be good with this motor... that's too far out of alignment... I can see that increasing the chance of chain skipping, gears changing etc etc... Hopefully Pushkar can provide a different chainring spider to pull that chain line further out.

    My UC Pro has arrived

Can't help you with chain crossing... sounds like an alignment issue, but with the chain skipping its worth thinking about. My first cassette lasted less than 200 miles. Skipping from day one. My 2nd cassette is nearing 2k miles and no issues.

    My UC Pro has arrived

Looks great! .... In the last photo it looks like your derailleur clutch is off.. If you flip the grey switch up (on) it will tighten up the chain a little which helps with the skipping in smaller cogs. Sometimes removing a couple of links from the chain can help too...

Speed Versus Newton Meters? I'll take Torque.

If you're not after more speed then I'd just get myself a nice wide cassette and get more "torque at the wheel"...
