    two brake questions...

Seems silly to allow the system to be so compromised by inverting the bike. I sometimes lay my wife's on its side in the bed of my truck for transport...is this perilous, also? Like I wondered earlier, maybe mechanical disc brakes are more user friendly, and certainly more maintenance...

    two brake questions...

Well, dang it about the WD-40! So, I ordered new pads, and wiped the rotors. But now I have a worsening of the problem mentioned earlier, where the brake lever engages the disc. (I know where the adjustment screw is for the lever starting position, for large or small hands, but do not know how...

    Rear axle feels rough...

On the bike stand, and slowly spinning the rear wheel, I feel some roughness. It is uniform, and not huge, but definitely noticeable. It is unrelated to the chain drive, as it is rough with the chain totally disengaged My wife's Pace 500 step-through does not seem to have this problem, hers...

    two brake questions...

The rear brake lever on my Pace 500 depresses quite a ways before engaging. Is there an adjustment to decrease the travel of the lever? Also, near the end of a stop, both brakes squeal loudly. I've previously used WD-40 to clean the discs, which stopped the grinding noise I used to have, but...

    Display calibration?

My Pace 500 odometer reads about a mile off of actual, over 30 miles. Is there any way to re-calibrate the display to be more accurate?

    Shipping Lies, be prepared

Seems like a pretty high expectation. I ordered mine recently on a Friday, and it arrived 7 days later...coast to coast. Good luck!

    Pace 500 arriving soon...

Couple more small things... My rear derailleur was occasionally hesitating, slightly, when up-shifting. I spun the micro-adjuster knuckle on the derailleur 4 notches counter-clockwise to tighten up the shift cable a smidge. Up-shifting is now very crisp. I also lubricated the chain while I was...

    Aventure stuck chsin

Your derailleur's limit screw needs to be adjusted. There are two of them, one for high and one for low. The limit screws ensure that the chain stops in time, and doesn't fall off the the cassette, whether the chain is climbing up the cogs or dropping down them. With no experience, find a...

    Pace 500 arriving soon...

Assembly update. The head set needed a small snugging up. Watch a video...it's easy to do but requires several steps. And, I've already scratched the sweet black (powdercoat?) finish. It's a tiny scratch, but still. The problem is the forward saddle clamp bolt is aligned so that the allen...

Pace Trip Odometer, how to reset

Haven't found this mentioned anywhere yet...any ideas on how to do it? And, what's the difference between Trip A and Trip B?

    Pace 500 arriving soon...

Good news and bad news, with the bad news turning out OK quickly enough. The good news is that the assembly went well. It's the fourth one I've done, and I continue to be impressed the packing, ease of assembly, and overall bike quality. I even remembered to put the little cap on top of the...

    Pace 500 arriving soon...

Got it today, one week exactly after a last Friday order. I'm sure shipping is sporadic, and frustrating some, but I'm glad I got lucky. Too hot in the garage to do much, about 100 degrees, but I'm looking forward to unboxing and assembling the 500. Counting the twin balance bikes behind the...

    Pace 500 arriving soon...

My initial giddiness about a fast turnaround time has been tempered. FedEx now says to expect delivery on Friday, instead of Wednesday. In another post, a guy said this went on for weeks,,,I hope that's not my case!

    Trying to contact Aventon

Chiming in... Ordered last Friday, expected to be here on Wednesday. Knock on wood, of course, but that seems pretty quick. There's now abut ten in our community, with no problems other than the common brake squeal. Regarding racks, we ordered an Ibera for my wife's 500, specific to...

    Aventon Customer Service lead times?

Whoa, that is significant. It almost seems like too much damage from shipping, but it's also hard to imagine how that happened in house, and passed inspection. Ship it back. I ordered a 500 last Friday, and am getting it on Wednesday. Depending on model, their turnaround time is quite quick.

    Aventon Customer Service lead times?

Bummer. I and my friends have had good success with Aventon, but your mileage obviously varies. It doesn't help that they are not doing any phone calls, so that's a hassle, too. Is it shipping damage, or is it a mechanical issue?

    Pace 500 arriving soon...

I pulled the trigger on a Pace 500. The new Sand color is backed up about 3 weeks, black ships within 24 hours. I ordered it last Friday, it shipped this morning (Monday), and is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. Pretty dang fast turnaround, I'd say, especially from CA to VA! My wife, and...

    Trying to contact Aventon

I've had no issues with my wife's Pace 500, after about 400 miles. We bought during the pandemic, and had good communication with sales. A friend bought two Pace 500's, and both had a slightly loose headset. he called customer support, was told to have an LBS adjust them, and was reimbursed soon...

    Ride Quality of Pace 500

Uphill Both Ways, You have to forecast being on an uphill, or coming to one and downshift accordingly. Especially when coming to a full stop, at a light or otherwise, make sure you are in 1st gear. Then, position the crank so that you have your non-resting foot at about 2:00...just past the...
