Tired wrists? Could be your hand positioning.

I have a set of handlebars from SQ Labs and I really like them. I tried a couple of different versions of comfort handlebars. The ones with more than 20-degrees of sweep put me way to upright. Straight flat bars with a slight rise were still uncomfortable. The SQ Labs bars are very comfortable...

    Comfortable handlebar options.

For those of you who like flat bars, there's this German company called SQ Labs that makes MTB flat bars with a slight bend to alleviate painful hand positions. https://www.sq-lab.com/shop/en/Handlebars/MTB/SQlab-Handlebar-3OX-16.html

How to power a USB C phone from a Bosch Intuvia

Search for OTG Cable. That will adapt the micro USB from the Intuvia to USB. You can then plug in your regular USB to USB C cable from there. 500mv from the intuvia will charge your device slowly, but if you’re running some power hungry application the rate of battery use will outpace the...

    Tire balding too fast?

I heard that rotating tire might not be the best idea because you’d be putting the tire with more wear on the front thus reducing steering traction. I’d buy a new tire and put that on the front and move the current front tire rearward. 900-1000 miles seems par for the course fir a tire rated at...

Radrover Spare Tube and CO2 or Pump

Fellow fat bike rider here. I use my fat bike as a commute rig, so I try to be as prepared as possible. I always carry a hand pump and C02. It'll take about 3 16g co2 cartridges to fill a full 26x4 fatbike tire. I'll be trying 25g CO2 cartridges to see if those work any better. If I were to do...

    Juiced Bikes 40 mph!!

On my usual route home I’m forced to take the lane for about 1/3 of a mile. This is a 25mph zone. I get this guy tailgating me even as I’m going about 28mph on my Haibike. When I switch to my HF1000 this hasn’t happened in the year I’ve owned it because I’m going about 33mph. I’m not sure what...

    CCX: zero mode and more

The battery management system is a circuit board that balances the voltage between all of the individual cells in the battery. It prevents the battery from being overdischarged and has a circuit to prevent too high of a load from being drawn out. If they claim 45 amps on the new battery, I’d...

    Juiced Bikes 40 mph!!

I think the stock Tektro brakes and 180mm rotors are up the task. However, I was never really keen on how the initial “bite” was not aggressive enough compared to the Magura MT5 brakes on my other bike. This is probably personal preference. I went through the rear set of pads in less than a year...

    Juiced Bikes 40 mph!!

I've hit 40mph on my HF1000 with both pedaling and a tailwind. The only place I would actually do this a completely empty road. Even with enough space, the utility and safety of going that fast is not worth it. You don't end up saving much time because you can't safely sustain those speeds over...

is it possible to wire in a headlight?

I like my m99 pro, but I ended up moving it from my Haibike to my JuicedBike. Supernova never made a dedicated cable harness that splits the power from the battery to the light and the motor. The thing to keep in mind is all of the big motor systems are exactly that. They are a mostly closed...

    Warranties

Also keep in mind that a lot of bigger brands are providing a warranty on parts only. If a component breaks, your dealer will work with the manufacturer to obtain a replacement part. However, my local ebike shop is very clear up front about charging labor to swap out warranty parts. You do...

Anyone have experience de-restricting class 1 bike?

I know someone who actually did manage to derestrict a Vado. It took a huge effort, basically, maybe a month worth of late evenings to reverse engineer the Brose motor and Specialized blocks system. The modification was not simple. The motor had to be opened up and a couple of jumper wires were...

    GoPro Style Safety Camera Reccos...

Yup, I recall having a GoPro 2 and having to process almost everything in with Warp Stabilizer tool in Adobe Premiere. I work on in the media production industry, so on a typical project we might buy a whatever is the current model GoPro. Use it for the duration of the project and in the...

    GoPro Style Safety Camera Reccos...

Wow, $12. Do any of these cameras have decent image stabilization? A helmet mounted cam without it is almost unusable.

    GoPro Style Safety Camera Reccos...

I just tried two different GoPro cameras, a Hero5 and a Hero5 Session. Both were mounted on the low profile style helmet mounts. If you top mount your camera any regular size GoPro or equivalent action camer will work. I went with the Hero 5 Session in a side mount configuration. It’s light...

Looking for a San Francisco install of a bikespeed RS dongle

It’s not too difficult for your style motor. You’ll need a Park Tool CCP-44 crank puller and a few standard Allen and Torx bits to remove the plastic covers.

NEW Juiced Models: Rip Current, and Cross Current X; Tariff Pricing Announced

Did anyone here actually buy a CCS X? I had a couple of friends make inquiries into the longevity of the controller when operating in “Race” mode. I don’t have the exact wording, but Juiced Bikes response was that the controller was not designed for prolonged periods of operation in Race mode...

ABUS Pedelec 2.0 Overview from Interbike

I just ordered a Pedelec+ from Germany. Visually they look the same. I think the only functional difference is the Pedelec 2 has the rechargeable rear light. Availability on the Abus website is January 2019.

HF1000 after 3k miles - thoughts and opinions

It should be compatible if the mechanical disc brakes have holes for the m6 bolts. What model are your disc brakes?

HF1000 after 3k miles - thoughts and opinions

Search for a Tektro/Trp A-7 (post mount 203mm adapter, front) and A-10 (is Mount to 203mm, rear) I’m keeping the Tektro brakes for know until I use up the stock brake pads. Since I have Magura brakes on my other bike, I’ll be upgrading to MT5 brakes soon.
