I would spend every Summer north of Green Bay, WI on the tip of the Door County peninsula. It was all Nordic. A normal snack was smoked fish on hardtack. The round hardtack (rye crisp) had a hole in the middle for storage hanging them aboard ship. The accents had that Scandinavian sing-song lilt and a limerick-like rhythm.Hah, you know I work in a neighborhood with a heavy Nordic heritage?
One of my customers came in today, but her husband Svein, wasn't with her. Pretty sure they are first or second gen Norwegian Americans.

That's silly. A dignified animal like a pig should have a serious, ernest name...The number one name for potbellied pigs is Hamlet.
I recently made an add-hock hammy 15-bean soup. It was mostly veggies with squash, peppers, then a six-year-old who does not like veggies ate a giant bowl served with warm cornbread with butter and honey. That will stick to your ribs on a cold day. His mom can't get him to eat veggies but he ate up that. That's silly. A dignified animal like a pig should have a serious, ernest name...
