I am dealing with the biggest pain in the butt because everything is so small and there is no room to work. There are like 60 1/2 mm wires in a spaghetti mess to replace an internal controller, no room, and if one gets crimped I am screwed. One did break and I had to solder a work around. The more I move the wires the more brittle they become.

Yes, that is a recipe for issues, small wires and brittle insulation. The brittle issue will only get worse. Time and Heat causes this. If it were me I would just get a new one at this point.
