2025 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

If we don't slow them down, they'll use up all the Ws, Ys and Gs, too.
There will be an overproduction of spaces, though :)

My own photos, 2022 :) One needs to learn how the "ll" is pronounced; I used to practice the pronunciation :)

Welsh is very easy to sing!

Młochowski Forest and Guerrilla Cuisine (Field Kitchen)

As I reached closed railroad barriers in Parzniew (this very place is notorious of long closing times!), I asked a cyclist a way older than me how long he had been waiting, and we could allow ourselves a chat. Turned out, the man came from our seaside for holiday but had no idea where to ride. I enthusiastically offered a group ride but the man looked at me strangely and said 'I don't think so..." as I mentioned we would ride off-road. I looked at his ride... A vintage road bike on narrow tyres! I only laughed and offered some directions to him.

A big meadow in our town is a habitat for bees, and it is also good to test off-road capabilities of your bike :) (The meadow can look beautiful but only during certain seasons).

Młochowski Forest is a favourite place for dog walkers, cyclists and equestrians, especially these living in a neighbouring rich town of Podkowa Leśna. Here, I went deep into the forest to find the remnants of a SAM battery from the Communist era (nothing left). Important to mention I was an officer cadet in the air defence before my civilian graduation, so I knew those places from autopsy :)

The quality of roads in the forest is varying from perfect gravel to muddy or sandy technical trails. Recent raining "calmed" the sand, making it perfectly rideable!

The tourist map in Komoot read:

. There was no horse though (I rode the segment for three times to make sure!) Instead... :)

I still cannot decide how to translate the name of "Kuchnia partyzancka". "Guerrilla Cuisine" has been certainly the intention of the owner :) Komoot reads just "Field Kitchen".

As I sat comfortably in a deckchair, I could see "Raining will stop for Strzeniówka in a few hours" on my phone. What raining? It was very warm and sunny! Before I really laughed at it, I felt the first rain drops on my face... Consulted Ventusky: it was a thunderstorm approaching fast! I lazily pulled a new cycling raincoat from my backpack, moved the helmet and gloves under a big umbrella and started watching the developments :)

It really poured! The raining lasted for some 40 minutes, during which I was watching Stage 15 of Tour de France on my smartphone :)

I didn't expect such a good cycling day after the exhaustion of Saturday!

Hey, @Chargeride , I meant to comment on this picture, below… I can’t say I’ve ever seen a house completely taken over by ivy before, but what the heck are they supposed to do if the exterior of that cottage needs work? Would a contractor take on that job? I’m guessing the building is stone and the roof is slate? It’s quite lovely, but rather problematical I’d think.

I think they clear it quite often, there wasnt that much when we went past, but Im in the back seat and cant get a pic.

I ask you, is this any way to run a language? I bet they drive on the wrong side of the road, too.
;^}
Its actually a product of a very American solution, make up a silly name to attract tourists...but its only called Llanfair on the roadsigns, which misses outon a great opportunity to call it 'gococh'

We just had quite a weather event, the sky became multilayered swirling black and grey clouds, followed by lightning and torrential rain.
It had tornado formation written all over it and then the British god remembered that isnt allowed.

Very dramatic sky. Exciting, isn't it? Really enjoyed the big thunderstorms we got in Denver. Quite apocalyptic at times.
