Multicharger — what break pads do you use?

The front mt5 use a magnet but the back mt4 don’t have a magnet and are held in place with a screw on top. The SwissStop pads for the MT4 come with the spring, while the ones for the mt5 don’t.

The MT5 can take two forms of pads (see my post at https://forums.electricbikereview.c...-what-break-pads-do-you-use.57942/post-686476). The single-piece pads require a retaining pin, but not the dual pads (Kool Stop in my post).

The MT4 uses single-piece pads.

Both are magnetic .... See below or video that Peter posted at https://forums.electricbikereview.c...-what-break-pads-do-you-use.57942/post-686697

Thanks for clarifying. Now that you say it, I do remember feeling that they sort of snapped in place with the mt4 too, but assumed they just fit and that the retaining screw kept them in place. So magnet and pin both keep them in place?

That is the way I see it working.

I removed and replaced my front pads this morning with Cooma Ceramic pads. They went okay but I suspect I may have a sticky piston. Will see how it goes.

The old ones still had a bit of life left in them, but I hope to get away for three days bikepacking on Monday in hilly country, so I thought it prudent to replace the pads now.

These are the old pads.
