An Accident
A friend Marek rode in Mazovian Special 80 on Sunday. Not a race but he was riding fast to assess his own racing shape. When he was riding a bike path on 60th kilometre, a stupid old cyclist playing with a smartphone rode onto grass and spilled across the path.

Marek rode behind at 35 km/h and did an OTB, hitting his helmeted head against the pavement. The helmet cracked but saved my friend's brain. Marek ended with a forehead injury (caused by the internal helmet band) and broke a finger.

The ambulance arrived only after one hour. Marek was examined and offered a hospital ride but without the bike. Marek said no thank you and rode to the finish line at a reduced speed. Then he packed his bike and drove to a private clinic.

When I went over the handlebars a couple of years ago my head also hit the pavement, my helmet saved me from serious injury for sure and I just got back on the bike and continued riding! I see a lot of cyclists riding without helmets here, its up to them obviously but they need to think of their families also...

I went on a 'little' warm up ride today after the rain finally passed through, I'm hoping to do another big ride on Thursday all going well! Lets just say I will be doing around 100 miles more than today if things go to plan...

No photos today, I was just enjoying riding the bike on amazing local roads!

I did 22 miles today when I rode to a nearby city park called Spring Lake. I usually ride out there a couple of times every year. A little bit more hills for me with nearly a 1000 feet of elevation gain.

Just did the full Red by myself, now were all knackered and barbecuing.

I attempted this ludicrous path at the top of a mountain.
I have no idea what its for, even a 4X4 would fail, just look how steep it is from the plants growing at the side.

Im here with most organised people on Earth, they have brought their own purified water, power washer and leaf blower to dry them afterwards..

The bike being washed is a Privateer with the Shimano motor, he pedal striked it and the main crank bearing has collapsed, only 8 months old.
