Bike battery fires and explosions are a real risk when using poor quality batteries or with non-certified chargers, especially if you then combine with poor charging conditions.
While charging keep the battery and charger in a location where it can dissipate heat (bike frame works for battery)...
I confirmed that gen1 RCS's have a smaller seatpost diameter:
Also 1st gen RCS was a mix of 48v up to 19.2ah and a giant 21am 52V that doesn't seem to be available any more.
So I suspect the current gen RC and RCS have a different controller and different software in the computer.
Does the...
I use ABUS locks (Bordo 6500 AND 37RK/55 paired with Laclede 3/8" Square "Lockdown" Security Chain) for my locks, but for seat/stem/nut security I have been using https://hexlox.com/
Sizing is as simple as reading the number of the hex wrench that you use :)
I had to change the seatpost clamp...
I get a thunk sound too - but after over 2000 miles I figure its probably fine (RCS gen1).
Mine only happens when at low speed/stop and applying full leg pressure (Power setting of Eco). Typically thunks once or twice and then stops unless I stand up to pump up a hill.
Folding Lock:
I use the Bordo 6500 - velcro case is just to the side and behind on the .... um.. seatpost tube? ...
The normal 6500 has been fine for short lockups, and i'm in a collage town -- I just wish that they had the longer model available when I got mine.
The normal models is 80cm, but...
I have not been able to find the MIPS version.. or are all the newer ones MIPS?
<edit/added>
They have a pre-order of a more bowl style helmet that has MIPS option but only in Black.
I want it White+MIPS.
I would think that people ordering high visibility helmets would order black as their...
Andy,
Not having used Esty before...do I not see a purchase option because you are out of stock?

glad I didn't send that.

Oh, I see, I have to click on the picture before I get to the add-2-cart.
Question:
Will this handle (weight) of my...
FYI - My RCS is WAYYYY quieter than that bike - and that is with the stock knobby tires at 22-27 PSI.
I tend to ride about 15-16mph with my assist top speed limited to 25mph. I think I just got lucky on motor noise -- but the first time I watched the video I was like "WOW those tires are...
Regarding spokes - I find I need to check my spokes at least every 2 weeks for tightness. At first I was a bit concerned, but then I realized that I didn't have any issues the first week when I was riding slowly.
I think the combination of the larger payload (me + locks + computer gear +...
I have the RCS in Medium and am 5'9"ish
Because my usage is 90% on the rough, poorly maintained roads in my local I was always planning on getting both a suspension seatpost AND a more "crusier" style saddle. (Still trying to find a Saddle I like better than stock, and the Redshift seatposts...
The other day I got a snide fashion comment about my bright yellow safety vest.
note: Unless Shorts & old T-shirt prints are in fashion, I am never fashionable
But riding on the RCS must have inspired me because my immediate reply was "Living is the ultimate fashion statement"
Of course in...
I can not seem to find the post that I was thinking of...
If you want to see a video of someone removing the wide battery base - there is a youtube video from "Dbf Crell" labeled "Juiced RipCurrent S - Bad Controller Changeout" where he records fully removing the wide base as part of the ECU...
@devhead
It doesn't mater the "size" (i.e. 12aH, 17ah, 19.2ah) - all 48 Volt systems use the 48V columns, so you just need to use the above post from @karmap and just focus on the 48V columns.
:)
@Diarmuid
A CCS XXL shows up for you to sign up for in-stock notification. If people who want the XXL don't sign up for the notifications, why would Juiced produce them?
@JMuir and @karmap ,
I remember reading previously someone who had an intermittent connection issue that was solved with battery insertion - and I vaguely recall something about somehow adjusting the socket in the battery mount + adding a shim, maybe at the base of the battery.
Sorry I don't...
