Some pics of comparisons would be great - smartphone hub *installed* on bike vs nyon *installed* on the same bike. I'm digging for deets. I dislike the smartphone hub.
Are there any threads on DIY replacement of our smartphone hubs on our Allants? I'd like to replace mine but want to be sure I purchase the right parts, and what the differences are between Nyon and Kiox (I'm assuming one of those is what you went with).
I have a bit over 2,000 miles on my 9.9s - I believe the motor sound has decreased some... not sure if it's all in my head but that's how i feel. Especially in eco mode - I honestly don't hear it anymore in that mode - not sure if modes matter though - but I use eco mode almost exclusively...
I'm curious about Bosch's range boost for those that have them. I've been dreaming up some long distance rides (100+ miles) and I'm wondering what the charging process is like for the whole 80% charge thing.
When you have both the powertube battery in the frame and the range boost attached...
Hey Luv2ride - i pinged you on Strava but thought i'd ask here as well... what size tubes are you running with your tannus armor? The tire size that I'm running is 27.5 x 2.35. It suggests 27.5 x 1.5-1.95 but I'm not even sure if that's such a thing... :-/ I'm seeing a lot of 1.8-2.5 or so...
Ha - i think i have a good answer found from wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charge_cycle
My 60->80% was just an example - I usually run it down more than 60% :-) But rarely less than 30% or so. I charge to 100% maybe once per month.
This shows my ignorance I'm sure - but I'm curious and always have been (I used to own a Nissan Leaf). When a company says a battery lasts so many charging cycles, say 1000, what does that mean. Is 1 charging cycle "used up" when I charge from 60 -> 80%? Sorry if that's a stupid question.
Been in the 50s a couple times on my road bike going downhill. 40s a large amount when I lived in hillier areas than I live now. One criterium had a downhill then uphill section - 2 mile laps - hit that down hill with other riders around jockeying for position. Doing that was pretty crazy...
Ha - I am absolutely nowhere near Fabian's level. Those guys are monsters. I never made it past cat 4. Mainly 2 reasons - bad racing tactics (constantly in the front - I've always been afraid of the surliness of the middle of the pack), and I simply never raced enough to learn how to race...
Thanks Johnny. It's a lot of years - lot of miles - I think maybe 50-60,000 lifetime miles since 2007/2008 or so. Now I have a family (3 kiddos), a career I want to focus on as well. The way I approach training takes too much of my time anymore. Maybe when the kids get older I guess I might...
