    Brose motor repair

Have you tried torquing down the pedal arms, replacing the pedals and finally tightening the motor mount screws? I've found all kinds of noises from pedalling in my bikes were based on something loose in the above three areas. I suppose a good bike would have tried these things.

    Standing Up on ebike: safe?

I got the motor so I wouldn't have to stand up on hills. Ugh, the bad old days when I would crest the hill at 6 mph, standing while pumping the pedals for most of it. Like teskow, I still stand when I see bumpy stretches coming,

Lithium batteries use a battery management system (BMS) for safety. The BMS monitors all the cell voltages. If any are too low, it opens a switch on the ground side and the internal cells are isolated from the outside. When this happens, you won't measure any voltage, other than what leaks thru...

Temporary power outages and motor noise

This sounds like a Hall sensor problem. They're inside the motor. Falling over should not affect them as they are tiny. PCEbiker put up this nice pic of his motor the other day. You can see three of them on the outer edges of he circuit board. What could have happened is you knocked the motor...

Unplug the controller from the battery, if you can. Then measure the battery voltage at the plug with and without charger plugged in. Want to know how battery is behaving with no load on it.

    Ecotric Dolphin brake upgrade/motor cutoff

I've added switches to the MT200. Basic kit is a round magnet with a hole in it, and a plastic switch box with a normally closed switch. When a magnet is brought close, it opens. I mounted the magnet on the aluminum lever with epoxy. The switch box uses double sided foam tape, but I added extra...

Specs say 36V battery. That means a max voltage of 42.0 V at full charge. The scooter will run til the battery gets to around 30V. Then the scooter shuts off. The battery has its own shutoff that triggers slightly under that, as a fail safe. Running a lithium battery too low can damage the cells...

Sensored Motor Controller Wiring Manual Deciphering

I've always set my speed limit in the display at max, so never had to worry about the bike surging at the limiter. Given my age and how my bikes look, I never worried about being stopped for bike checks. I do have a problem with external speed sensors on my KT controllers though. Have put up...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

Ebiking has allowed my wife and I, both of us over 20 years older than the OP, to enjoy biking daily. We put on over 17K miles riding together in 10 years. We don't need a lot of ebike to ride on our local path and on rail trails. Have learned that even with an average speed is 12 mph, long...

    Goodbye to biking

Haven't biked all month. Came down with Covid on 6-30. Too tired to do anything. Lot of sleep time. Maybe next week.

    Show Us a Tool

15 bucks for a cable routing fish tool, huh? I looked on my wall and found a roll of weed whacker line. Pulled the 4:1 harness thru the frame with it and some tape,

KT Contollers searching via model number

I would think only the factory sells them by model numbers, and you probably need to order 1000 units to get their attention. The resellers that sell KT units have stocked models that are popular sellers. On the plus side, KT is a well documented brand with a variety of displays, and they are...
