    be very afraid!

Yes, I remember driving past Gary, Indiana in the early 60's. I also remember Love Canal, I started working in a lab in 1970. They drained right into the sewer system and eventually into the Chicago river. All kinds of acids and bases , plus carcinogens went down the pipes, We vented similar...

    “No e-bikes allowed”

Solar power real life. I gather you might get 100WH in an hour at mid day with his panels. My 2 amp charger can do 100WH in an hour too, Enough for 6-8 miles for most people. .

Temporary power outages and motor noise

Two suggestions. 1. Look at the pedal assist sensor and make sure it turns with the pedal. I had one that started slipping and I was losing power every half revolution. The sensor was so old that the plastic had turned brittle,. Perhaps consider swapping in a new one. 2. Change out the Hall...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

MrClortho, as a mountain biker you know this, but one thing I learned about riding faraway rail trails in the early morning. The air is clear and cool. The pine smells amazing. The damn rest rooms in the trail stops are locked. What a man might do for a mere scrap of toilet paper.

2015 ejoe Koda battery/motor/ controller question

Court in his 2015 review looks at a 36V Ejoe. Display should power up on a single 36V4.4ah, and if wheel is off the ground, the throttle will spin the wheel if the rest of the bike is good. The simpler things you need to check are that the motor connector (look about 12 inches down the cable...

    Powacycle Milan 2 battery replacement

It's hard to upload pics small enough to get on the website these days, but you're requiring responders to look up your bike and guess, when a phone picture makes it easy. From available images of the Milan battery, even the thumbnail pics show not a Silverfish as the key is on the chain side...

What is the deal with this bottom bracket / crank?

It might also fit a Bafang M-XXX motor or other motor in the future. Someone would have to look more closely to see if it really could do that, I doubt that Lankaslei is big enough that they can produce one-off frames for their ebikes, They must use an off the shore frame from the industry.

How Often Do You Replace Your E-Bike Battery?

It depends on quality, Good quality batteries will go 600 cycles and still might have enough capacity for the owner, if they only need a modest range, Low quality packs might not even get to 100 cycles. What happens there is an individual cell failure that shuts the battery down. This is more...

    My "New" Ebike

A very nice find, and worth 250 bucks, You could probably rebuild the battery as a 28V12AH 9S-4P and have a little more power w/o blowing up the controller.

Just joined the e-bike world - wow!

Nice bike for city traffic. Might get some respect from other drivers. That's when I like riding my fat tire 26 incher, It's probably a generic battery in that frame. You can't make any money having to source a one-off battery case. If you buy a spare, make sure they use good quality cells.

    Bike Computer/Speedometer Recommendation for eBike

I have a handlebar USB accessory jack on one bike. After I installed it, my wireless computer couldn't get a signal from the wheels. Probably interference from the DC-DC converter inside the accessory, Some ebike displays likely do the same thing,

cheap hitch carrier - better ways to secure the wheels?

The last two racks I owned used metal loops to hold the wheels. Wheels would be well secured by gravity, but you wanted to use the velco straps to make sure they stayed in place. I learned later that if you get a big nylon tie strap, it can be used to wrap around the bikes in the middle of the...

    Electrobike seal 500

Well, if you still have the battery cannister, a re-cell service could transplant the cells and circuitry from another battery into it. Not a hard job,

    Electrobike seal 500

Is this your bike? Unfortunately, it uses something like the common 36V Silverfish battery but not quite the same. Doesn't use a rear strut and the key is on the wrong side. so it must attach quite differently. I doubt that you're going to find a replacement, You don't have the old battery...

    Choosing the best conversion kit

Here's a cheap Cruiser I did in 2018. Bought a used bafang front motor and a used 36V nineboot scooter pack for $100. Motor controller was $75. Put it on a Kent 26" Cruiser. Rolling along for under $200. Later went to a 48V battery, upgraded the awful rim brakes to disk brakes, and am at...

    Brose motor repair

Have you tried torquing down the pedal arms, replacing the pedals and finally tightening the motor mount screws? I've found all kinds of noises from pedalling in my bikes were based on something loose in the above three areas. I suppose a good bike would have tried these things.

    Standing Up on ebike: safe?

I got the motor so I wouldn't have to stand up on hills. Ugh, the bad old days when I would crest the hill at 6 mph, standing while pumping the pedals for most of it. Like teskow, I still stand when I see bumpy stretches coming,

    Jetson Ryder Pro jry350-gbl water

Lithium batteries use a battery management system (BMS) for safety. The BMS monitors all the cell voltages. If any are too low, it opens a switch on the ground side and the internal cells are isolated from the outside. When this happens, you won't measure any voltage, other than what leaks thru...

Temporary power outages and motor noise

This sounds like a Hall sensor problem. They're inside the motor. Falling over should not affect them as they are tiny. PCEbiker put up this nice pic of his motor the other day. You can see three of them on the outer edges of he circuit board. What could have happened is you knocked the motor...
