A riding buddy just bought a new Velotric Discover M mid-drive commuter.

If you've actually ridden one, would love to hear any notable experiences you have to share — good, bad, or just unexpected. Thanks!

Coming from an Aventon Level.2 hub-drive, this will be his first mid-drive. The specs look to be a good value to me, and the recent EBR review is quite favorable. Still impressed with my wife's Velotric Breeze 1 after 18 mos.

Q1. Does this bike display real-time cadence or rider power?

Q2. Anyone know its optimal cadence range? (For example, my Specialized mid-drive is most efficient at 80-100 rpm, with power delivered to the drive wheel dropping off noticeably below 70 rpm.)

Thanks for sharing your experience with this bike!

I own a Velotric Discover M. It's been a good experience, the 100 Nm of torque is super fun and quite noticeable. The hill climbing ability is outstanding. You should know that mid-drives require skillful gear shifting. There should be little pressure on the pedals when shifting gears. I typically tap a brake to cut all electricity to the motor.
Q1: It displays power, but not cadence. BTW, I've mentioned this to Velotric, maybe will see it in an OTA update or future model.
Q2: Can't help you here, I always use the torque sensor which I prefer.

Here's a pic of my Discover M. I sent a message to you.

Thanks! My buddy's loving his Discover M so far. Still exploring all the riding modes — including the various auto modes. The operating system seems WAY more sophisticated than the one on my wife's year-old Velotric Breeze 1.
