Anyone else still putting miles on their RipCurrent S?

I reached out by email to the new Juiced folks to see if they were interested in any help or whatever with the reintroduction of the brand. Just FYI, below. While they’re not looking for my help, It’s really nice that these folks are jazzed up to bring Juiced back. I, for one, am wishing them success despite the ignominious downfall of the original company. Lectric was wise not to take on any liability after Juiced’s demise, but the downside of course is a lot of owners who’ve been stranded… I don’t know how they’ll deal with that stain on the brand.

We haven't made any new product announcements to the public yet, but I will say that spring of this year would be a pretty great time if you're looking for a new e-bike.

At this time we are not seeking active partnerships. But we really appreciate you thinking of us. We'll let you know if there is any way you can get involved in the future.

So juiced just announced their second model. So far, they've got their wheelie e-moto, and now they've got a 70mph e-moto. I was willing to hold hope the new one was going to be plate-able. Nope.

Lectric's designer wanted to sell e-motos and they bought the Juiced name to do so.
 
By the way, where is this high-powered eMoto? Is it not on the web site? I see two Scrambler models, one with full suspension and one hardtail.
If you look at the top of the juiced website, click "Powersports". From what I understand, the specs for the price are good, at least. But I'm not interested in a 8kw emoto.

Yeah, that is clearly “off-mission” for the ebike crowd, but that’s quite a beast.
 
I may have come to the end of putting miles on my RCS. I put a bit over 4k on my 2019 750w bike before selling it and today I ran out of assist on my 2023 1000w love of my life at 23,864 miles. I ordered the bike and the newly offered upgraded controller July of 23 and installed the upgrade at 350 miles. I'll put the original controller on the bike tomorrow and see if that will get me a few more miles out of the old girl. The circumference of the earth at the equator is 24,901 miles and I full intended to log that many miles on my RCS. I have a make believe Juiced bike.. a Napune Aquila that I've put a few thousand miles on when I was working on the RCS though the years. My RipCurrent S has been a great bike. I hate to see it die.

Hi olbriar, I got about 1000 miles on the upgraded controller before it started misbehaving and I replaced it back with the original. That has worked fine for over 2000 miles. Good luck. I hope that works for you.

I experienced brief power lulls last fall and replaced the cadence/torque sensor with an after market sensor from a guy on Juiced fb group. It seemed to fix my problem and then it acted up again. I put the original controller back on the bike at that point but the bike was still cutting out. Quite random were the momentary outages that It wasn't a show stopper. I could ride a hundred miles or more without a problem and then I'd experience a number of them in one forty mile ride. I have since replaced the motor. It had 20K or so on it so it was suspect. My most recent repair was another chain replacement, jockey wheels, and rear cassette. I have less than 300 miles on the new drive train and the bike has been cutting out bad since the change. I've changed the spacing slightly from the sensor to #9 ring thinking that was the problem. My spacing edit yesterday proved to be the fix. I rode a test mile without a single hitch. I returned home, put on my bike clothes, and was off for a good ride. NO assist. Nothing changed between rides except the removal and reinserted battery.
Excuse me for being so wordy. I thought it best to represent the problem and what I've done to alleviate it.

But if the battery goes I’ll probably consider a different bike as that’s the only part I don’t have a spare for and I’ve destroyed two replacements (used) already. The original is still working fine though.

Good luck getting it back into shape.

Thanks for the well wishes. The problem is not the controller. It acts the same with the original controller. It seemed a bit sluggish but that's the difference between the sensor reads of the two controllers. I rode three quick miles. At least it was sensing my pedaling most of the time. The power fell out often. I will try to find another sensor and then I'm done. I had hoped to ride that bike off into the sunset. I'm almost 74 and have had a massive heart attack so my miles are limited. I guess I lasted just a bit longer than my RCS 🤣
 
It could be a loose connector.
I do appreciate the suggestion. I've not tried using a conductive jelly at the connections but they all take great effort to pull apart and I see no bent pins. I disabled the brake motor cutoffs just in case one was adjusted so close to no brake in use that it gave a false shutoff to the motor now and then. The only original wiring and component is the cable between the battery makeup and the controller. There is still power to the display and I have throttle when I experience an outage so there is power from the batteries to the controller. I have three 19.2 amp and two 15.6 52V batteries and the outages happen with all of them. I'm without a clue. I ordered another sensor. I had a terrible time getting the last sensor connected to the upgraded controller. There is a slight chance that one of the wires is distressed. It made up easily to the original controller today. I ordered one just in case that's the problem. Sad to say, if it's still hit and miss power... I'll have to move on.
 
The power connector on the rear chainstay that goes to the motor (it’s got a y-shaped divider) has a bunch of small pins on it. Double check that they’re all there and not mashed down. I don’t know exactly how they’re used, but I think they need to be there. Anyway, good luck. Try zooming in on my picture below and if you can’t see what I’m talking about let me know.

Thanks.. the pins are there. I never knew they were there until I replaced the motor. I'm sure they are there for some good reason. Freaked me out when my new motor showed up and I saw those little pins. I thought I had ordered the wrong thing.
