2025 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Im laughing cos I said my Haibike was built better 😂
It is definitely more electrically sturdy , maybe thats a mass produced effect for less cutting edge customers, it had one common issue of switching itself on, but that was just a dirty CAN contact, a quick clean fixed it.

What a pity you cannot buy a Haibike in the U.S. anymore.
He's not from the US? He's British.

You see, Haibike is not the same company it was in 2010s anymore.
Are any of them? Is Spesh, the Taiwanese owned, constantly bailed out & constantly in danger of bankruptcy the same as it was in the 80s when it made the first Stumpjumper and Rockhopper?

Accell Group (Dutch) now owns Haibike. Corporate world gobbling each other up.

It still has a belt tensioner hanging down which kind of negates one of the main advantages
Yeah... not really though, it's small and doesn't dangle to near ground. Plus of course no fear of derailleur ending up in spokes with that wonderful crunch! noise. Had enough of those in my time.

I did 16 miles today. I haven’t been able to ride much. We spent two weeks in Switzerland then after that helped my daughter move. A couple of pictures from my ride. The corn is drying fast, on the rode its like a small canyon with the corn on either side.
