Hi- I have been looking at a backup trike to my addmotor and ran across this brand. I am seeking some feedback on these two things: I was concerned when I saw two things. One some other members comments on their bearings going out. We have fairly bumpy and concave asphalt roads in my neighborhood. Secondly, I was curious about the 500w motor power for hills. We have a number of short steep hills around here that my 750w does great on. ( I am a 150#) Thanks in advance!

I've had my Lectric XP Trike since last year, mainly it's been used by my in-laws (in their 80's) to scoot around and get some sun.
It does what it's meant for: low speed, compact and just get-on-&-ride vehicle.
Mine didn't have any issues with the wheel bearings, fenders were little bent during shipping, but other than that it's been trouble free.
The trike does have different power assist levels, can get up decent hills as long as are able to pedal a bit.
If not the throttle can only get you to certain top speed.
Just remember, trike doesn't ride like a bike, trike are designed to go slow.
By having a higher power output (750w) doesn't really help if you're looking for top speed and the trike becomes unstable.

Bought a trike in March and have yet to get any riding in for 2025. After just 5 miles the rear bearings started making noise. After many emails back and forth sending pictures and videos they told me to take it to a partner shop for repair. The shop could not fix it and told me Lectric would replace the trike and shop would send the original back. After weeks of waiting I visited shop expecting to see my new trike. Instead my original was still on the floor waiting to be sent back. The shop owner told me to contact Lectric for an update but they do not answer the phone even during business hours. Not sure where all of the glowering reviews come from. Certainly not from me!
Uh oh, I hope that’s not sign that Lectric is having trouble. They’ve expanded and sold a lot of bikes in the last 3 years or so… Lectric bought the rights to Juiced bikes, and I’m hoping that they can revive the brand. Maybe they’ve taken on too much? I don’t want to start any rumors though.

That’s a shame, @John49… I hope you get squared away by the bike shop you brought it to. I don’t know; if they’re telling the truth that they’re not answering the phone, that’s a bad sign. Oy.

I finally got resolution today with a refund.

I am 81, and with reflexes and balance declining, I decided to buy a trike. I have put almost 700 miles on the trike and I average about 250 miles a month. Here are the problems: first, comfort. These bikes are great for short trips, I am sure, but spending an hour on the trike a day, as I do, it is difficult to find a minimum of comfort. The spring loaded seat suspension that comes with the Lectric is not very effective. So, I switched the Kinetic seat post on my old bike to the trike today, and I ordered a "Cloud 9" seat as well. (I have tried two more saddles besides the original and they weren't very helpful). So, if you ride long miles and find being jostled when you hit a bump of any size unacceptable, you would probably best be served with full suspension. I will know tomorrow if I can get by with the suspension post and the new seat. Secondly, the absence of gears is a problem. For climbing hills, it is not a problem, as you can simply apply more power. However, on flat, or a decline, above ten miles per hour, it is hard to increase my cadence enough to apply pressure on the pedals. I mitigated this problem by, as someone suggested on the net, having the LBS install a bigger gear (also required a new chain). Now, I can do 14 MPH on flat in "Tour," which is the second of five power lievels. The first power level and least, is Eco, which gets me almost 50 miles between charges! ( I weigh only 135 pounds, so this helps). Thirdly, the tires are 2.5" wide and 4" I believe would provide more stability. I have to add the good: I bought the bags from Lectric and they are wonderful. The bike can carry 100 pounds! Good for a Costco run. The Lectric is very affordable. It has lights which you can run on blink during the day. Also, it has turn signals and cruise control . There are trikes with 4" tires, full suspension, semi-recumbent comfortable seating, and dual batteries, but they cost more than twice as much as the Lectric. I am hoping Lectric will build a trike with all these features. I am saving for it now. They are a an excellent company and they are local for me. I hope this helps.

Needless to say, when I hear someone reporting in their eighties that they’re riding it warms my heart.

If you bought this bike at a store, you should use that leverage to persuade them to let you try out or test anything you want. I mean, use it, brother! :)

Keep on keepin’ on, @cleo1943 !

By the way, 250 miles in a month is outstanding. Keep it up!
