Charging port cover - won't seat

The rubber dust cap on my charging port won't stay put when I'm riding, it won't snap into the frame. There is a little nub that looks like it should fit somewhere, but it doesn't. Any ideas? Does yours look the same?

@stompandgo thanks for the answer. It's not new, no dealer option for me. (a recent upway purchase, a 2022 model).

"Heat on tab" meaning the entire black rubber piece, or just the little protrusion on the back?

If I trimmed the little protrusion some, it >might< mate up with one of the pins on the charging plug, but I'm not 100% sure... do you have the same arrangement?

Headslap - answering my own question now, sorry:

This is not my video or my bike, it just happens to be the same color. The little protrusion is intended to mate with the top pin on the charging plug per the above video.

I'll try putting a little dielectric grease on it and see if it gets happy.

Putting it in dry is difficult at best! 🙃

Less than perfect design. I've found when closing the cover, it doesn't, doesn't, doesn't close and with no noticeable change in technique, it does. Frustrating!

Those rubber charge port covers have long since broken off all my batteries. So far, I've been able to find vinyl caps that fit.

Yeah, they're easy to loose, but cheap so I just keep a handful in my battery bag.

Same here. Mine was a plastic cap. I always cover with a piece of electrical tape before I ride.

Probably the only thing wrong about a Gazelle Ultimate T10! Lived with it for a long time.
CAREFULLY nip the nub down to size. One tiny bit at a time followed by trying it out. Alternate sides each nip.
Use something like fine fingernail scissors.
Only a BIT at a time. It will seat nicely, everytime, eventually.

How about something like this:

Yeah, that does look like a better option.
I'll see how the ones I ordered work out first.
I've got 30 of them coming, so I don't mind losing a few, but I am worried about forgetting to remove it, and trying to install the battery.

The outside flange should provide extra protection. About $1.50 US with different sizes available.

... and they're ribbed for her pleasure 🙃

I've got the same type of crappy charge port cap cover on my first battery,..
Hinged the wrong way as well. 😀

And it's underneath on the bottom of the battery at a weird angle, so it's really hard to plug it in unless I lay on the floor so I can see what I'm doing. 😄

It does have one advantage in that it's facing almost down, so water and crap has a better tendency to fall out of the socket.
