Battery orientation

Some ebikes that have the battery integrated into to down tube eject horizontally, some eject vertically downward and sone eject vertically upward. Are any of these orientations better for fame strength or bike performance? Ed

horizontal gives the best frame choices because you don't need to make room for the battery to come out. I would not want a bike where it drops down too easy for me to drop.

I do not like batteries that drop down for removal. That is risking a dropped battery. Regarding dynamic performance, low and centered gives the best handling. Batteries mounted up on a rear rack will flip a bike on a switchback. I also like external batteries that do not have proprietary connections or mounts.

ya I liked the Bosch external batteries fast in and out and a built in handle. but I bet they slowly vanish. but maybe not there are a lot of oddball bikes that they work well in.
