Where is the best place to buy a back up battery (48volt 14AH for my Ariel Rider Rideal ebike?

Excellent question. I can´t help with dolphin packs, but also curious. I could have suggestions
for dorado packs.

First look at some options on eBay. You will have more options if you are willing to install a new battery that is a different configuration. To find its exact twin will be harder. If you do, that will be a score. The cells make all the difference. Read the specification. Most available right now, where housed in the US are generic Chinese cells.

Looks like a Hailong pack, not a Dolphin. At least Dolphins are the same, I've learned there are two styles for the Hailong base, incompatible with each other, and several styles for the pins, like 4 pins vs 5 pins, and flat pins vs round pins.

I bought a five pin Hailong pack, but it's for a new DIY build.

To find its exact twin will be harder.

Indeed, I have an older setup for dorado shorter than I´ve been able to find. (400mm/ 15 1/2 inches?)
Have 2, 21ah & 8ah still with plenty miles, but i may be outa luck for a replacement in a yr.or so. No
big deal, I can cobble together a mount of some kind for the newer, longer batteries. A lot of batteries
available out there if you don´t mind waiting for it to get here.

This is why I have moved to using batteries with one universal mounting. The standard water bottle cage, 90mm and round! And one connector across various capacities of batteries. I can swap out batteries based on the ride that day, the smaller and lighter the better. Or take two if needed even if they are different sizes. But I make different voltages have different connectors, so I am less likely to experience a major screw up. Small screw-ups are my favorite way of learning. I try to do as many original ones as I can each day. I love each and every one, embracing them them all.

I´m wrestling with this issue while building my gas/electric hybrid. This definitely is an interesting
option. Thx a bunch, I´m gonna look into it. A dorado may well seat into a bottle cage which I could
tap into an additional mounting point if I need to move it up or down to fit battery length. Mistakes
are the best source for knowledge.
