Power switching back on at 18mph to 19mph

Hi, first of all I am new to the site and looking forward to joining in the discussions.
I have a Cannondale Evo super six, that as had very little use. It as developed a problem. I bought it with the intention of only using the electric when absolutely necessary, so the electric is used very, very rarely.
The problem is that with the power off, at between 18mph and 19mph the power switches on by itself.
The light flashes white then the power comes on, just on one occasion it flashed white then went to purple. I switch it back off, but again when I reach 18mph -19 mph it comes back on.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

UK e-bikes are restricted to 15.5 mph. If the power on your e-bike comes on at 18-19 mph it means the motor is still not assisting you.

Hi, many thanks for your reply. The problem is not that the motor is not assisting me, it is the fact that I am not using any assistance at all. The power is completely switched off(no lights on) but I hit 18-19mph and it switches it self on. So I switch it off then at 19mph it switches back on again.
Thanks
Ade.

I suggest you take it to a Cannondale dealer for a full inspection and run a diagnostic on the ebikemotion system

Hi, and thanks for your reply.
As we speak it is at a dealership to have done what you suggest. I was just hoping that someone may have experienced the same problem, so that I could pass on the info to the dealership, to help rectify the fault and for my own peace of mind.

Hi all,
I now have the answer to my problem which I would like to pass on.
The dealer was very helpful, I was fearing the worst. They had not come across the problem before so they rang Cannondale.
It appears it is not a problem, but it is a safety feature.
They say although the system is switched off the hub motor is still creating current, so to prevent damage to the system the motor switches on. It all makes sense because the motor always switched.
back on at the same speed.
So there you have it and I now intend to use the electric more often, after all that's what is there for.
