Yamaha, would you please give us REAL utility ebikes?

Yamaha is now selling its own branded ebikes in the US (with a three year battery warranty!), albeit with a pretty limited line of ebikes, with styling and frame geometry oriented to road bikers and mountain bikers. ... they have a "utility" category without a step-through model.

Step-through is essential for utility--how can you have groceries or a kid on the back of the bike and throw your leg over? What, kick your kid in the face? And, what about those of us without the agility to throw our legs over? Come on, Yamaha, give us REAL utility in your utility category! There's a HUGE market out there for you, of people who can use an ebike and can't ride one of the models you currently are marketing here.

Yamaha has a line of step-through bikes in Japan, the PAS. But, for some reason they have made no inclinations that they intend to beef them up and bring them here to the USA. My guess is that the PAS frames are totally built around a system that the USA market would deem too small. I watched a Yamaha corporate presentation recently, and based on my best efforts at understanding Japanese, the USA company model seemed to be experimental.

Japan step-overs (should be familiar)

Did someone ask them about the possibility of bringing in the PAS and they just didn't seem to oblige? That's really too bad since this is the type of bike that everyone can use.

The lack of true utility bikes is astonishing. I searched and did a lot of research. Finally pulled the plug and bought a Cero One. Only a day old, but I'm happy with it so far (other than it was a bitch to change a flat tire that I got on the first day!).

We also got a flat on one of our bikes on the first day, but it happened at the dealer before they delivered it! When they drove up to our house with our four ebikes beautifully sparkling in the rear, they had a story to tell, and I sure was glad it happened on their watch and not on mine
