Yamaha is now selling its own branded ebikes in the US (with a three year battery warranty!), albeit with a pretty limited line of ebikes, with styling and frame geometry oriented to road bikers and mountain bikers. ... they have a "utility" category without a step-through model.
Step-through is essential for utility--how can you have groceries or a kid on the back of the bike and throw your leg over? What, kick your kid in the face? And, what about those of us without the agility to throw our legs over? Come on, Yamaha, give us REAL utility in your utility category! There's a HUGE market out there for you, of people who can use an ebike and can't ride one of the models you currently are marketing here.
