I watched this calm well researched BBC doc about the rise of Hitler a few years ago, and the recent populist playbooks; whether Putin, Orban or Trump is chilling close to how Hitler did it. For the first time (for me), step by step it showed how Hitler destroyed German democracy from within, all with the deliberate intention of using democracy to get power and then destroy democracy. The Nazi's were never that popular and had to rule as part of a rightwing coalition but that was enough for them to gain absolute power. Even the name of the party; National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP or Nazis) was to attract German working people who where being tempted by the socialist and communist movements post WW1, after the nearby successful Soviet revolution with the aim to 'pretend' to be be a marriage of socialism and nationalism so attracting the mass of WW1 veterans who were working class but put off by the International workers idea of communism. In the doc the way the tiny, extreme Nazi party manipulates the traditional Right wing parties of the Officer, Landowning and Church classes who naively saw Hitler as a useful idiot and a bulwark against the communists. And how step by step Hitler's ruthlessness and total disregard for rule of law destroyed everything. The doc is probably not available in US in this link but might be on BBC America or PBS etc:

If China invades Taiwan and we let it, the worlds economy will head off into unknown territory 15 trillion crash, possible total meltdown.

I'm actually happy to see Roamers isn't totally insane and is avoiding tesla stock (and product). If the markets fall another 20% from todays levels, I'll jump back in. What happens when trump's 90 days suspension of tariffs happens? does HE "double down" and re-impose the tariffs or does he fold, realizing he's devastating the world economy and markets. My guess? he folds and finds a way to blame those totally deranged democrats or MS-13

That's why I buy several times on the way down and enjoy the ride back up. I've never caught a "market top or bottom" in 45 years; happy with buying lower than I sold and selling higher than I bought.
