Gas prices are not the issue for me. I think we have the highest prices in NA, BTW.
My beef is paying for a car, insurance, parking if applicable and maintaining it. (mechanically and cosmetically.....and I am real anal retentive when it comes to a car) Gas is just an added expense on top of that. Moved out of the city and refuse to own one again.
Obviously, my suggestion to some in this thread is why have a car at all?
I figure buying a third e-bike, a cargobike for grocery days and errands.
I used to rent a car when I really needed one which dwindled down to just about never.
