Yes, because they are crappy, a waste of money. There are plenty of folks who know all about electric bikes because they rode their brother-in-law's 20" fat folder for three minutes.

Those 20FF have bolts made out of pot metal and proprietary connectors on controllers that fail then the company shuts down that brand's website and sets up another under a different name.

I rode my acoustic bike a couple times a year. Then I bought a "used" (brand new in box) Rad Rover ST w/ 26x4 knobbies for half of retail. I've ridden it 5-7 days a week every week since purchase - purely for recreation, onroad and on trails. My wife wanted to join in - which thrilled me to no end - so I found a cheap (half retail) lightly used Stunner X w/ 24x3 tires for her. She loves the thing.

Until I started reading this forum, /ebikes on Reddit, and other random sites, I wasn't aware only ignoramuses bought fat tire bikes; and they're a fad that will die any minute now; and I am lesser human for the bike and not knowing any better. O and those of us who buy assembled bikes vs building our own are complete morons and unworthy of this hobby. Got it.

Suppose I'll continue riding mine daily, doing long weekend rides, with the stoopid grin of a Mongoloid Boy while keyboard connoisseurs mock me/us.

It is true that some people will only use their bikes six times per year to explore a flat KOA. They are not in the market for a lifestyle change, just a toy sporting good. And the features of an expensive bike would not be appreciated. You have to admit that there is a market for 20" fat folders! One guy thought that his is a Mountain Bike. KOA is my last resort for a shower & a charge. It´s not so much KOA as the clients. Being deaf, I try not
to be drawn into unintelligible conversations with Ozzie & Harriet. The best I can do is smile, nod, & pet
the dachshund, chihuahua, snot nosed grandchild, whatever.

To me the best ebike is the one that inspires one to ride more. Anything below a Rad Power or a NCM Moscow is not going to float my boat at all and I would rather save up my money in order to get a better bike. BUT There are lots of examples of bikes for resale that never got used much and some of them are very high end, so this means that some people are never going to be big on Ebiking. I offered to let my brother- in- law try one of my Ebikes but he flat out declined by saying" I already know what it is like to ride a bike and have no interest whatsoever". He does enjoy his Harley however. You can lead a horse to water , but you cannot make it drink.

well as I stated in the past, I started with an e-bike because at my weight a traditional bike would have been discouraging. no way I would have used it to commute to and from work 50 miles a day and put over 30,000 miles on it in 18 months.

at the time I bought what I could afford and what met my needs.

One word. Respect.

50 miles in a day is one thing. To back it up by 50 miles per day times the other 4 times a week and it's a total commitment of the heart to see it through. Weather changes. Whatever aches or pains you are feeling at the time you get it to do it all over again; those miles are calling and they have to be ridden. Time changes in the fall or spring, it doesn't matter. Those miles are calling.

Total mad respect for what you've accomplished! My wish is for many, many safe and trouble free miles ahead!

That cargo bike took two chains. The quick links are of equal distance. It is something like 190 links total. The key is to join the chains, then make the lengths you cut off of the same. You do not want the connections on the same side of the power stroke. That bike was a blast to ride today. It is heavy as hell. The length is like a long yacht on chop. I went on turbo mode taking hills. A friend and critic called it a 'Lincoln Limo.' A mom of two shouted, I want your bike! With lust, But this is a WEIRD place. Western, educated, industrialized, rich and democratic. Cool moms want to be carbon neutral here in part for the bragging rights and like long.

It will be a Nexus 8 eBike with a coaster brake. I love helping people with special needs. She loves to ride and can no longer take big hills.

I am just a small town bike mechanic trying to survive a global pandemic without killing someone's grandmother. Not all that special. I just made this one today. It is a 2015 worth about $300. Now it climbs like an animal with a 10-42 cassette and does 28 on the flats. The guy was supposed to pick it up 45 minutes ago. That's why I am stalling on a beautiful Sunday sitting at a computer. I will give him another 15.
