Which brake systems are compatible with Ripcurrent S?

Which brake systems with motor cut off sensor/wire are compatible with juiced? I can't find star union anywhere (my front brake went out) except juiced but their shipping time is taking forever right now and so for the future I want to be able to switch it to a more common brand where I wouldn't have issues ordering/delays and multiple vendors would carry it.

Even tektro dorado I am having hard time finding. I see a few overseas vendors but thats pretty much it. I am also not sure exactly which tektro models are compatible. Juiced told me the tektro hd 350 is compatible but again can't find it anywhere.

Any suggestions? Should I just switch to any 180mm hydraulic brake system without the motor cut off sensor/wire? The rep at juiced was making it sound like the motor cut off wire is more of a preference and its the same thing if you just stay off the throttle and don't pedal when you press the brakes, which I do anyway.

I had a Shimano mechanical brakes because I have a Juiced CrossCurrent Air.

I upgraded to Tektro hydraulic that I got from AliExpress, I just had to get a brake inhibitor sensor from Juiced.

What's wrong with your brake? Just the sensor? If that's the case, can't you just order the sensor?

Which tektro hydraulic did you upgrade to? Can you tell me the model? Since they have a bunch of different versions.

Im not sure exactly about the issue but the front brake had been feeling weak and when I took it to my bike shop for a tune up they said when they tried to bleed the brake it wouldn't hold the pressure or something. I'm not sure I'm not too mechanically inclined. So they said I have to get the front brake replaced. They tried to find it but couldn't so I called juiced and ordered it. But it's been 2 weeks now and I haven't received it hasn't even shipped.

The sensor was fine it's just that "regular" bike brakes don't come with motor cut off sensors. So basically I was just asking if you can put regular hydraulic brakes on your bike or not or does it have to be the kind for ebikes with a motor cut off wire?

There are other sellers on AliExpress selling Tektro brakes though.

You can put regular bike brakes, but do you really want to lose your sensor?
Try plugging off the sensor and ride it.

No I don't but what do you do when you cannot find the ebrakes with the sensor??? they are hard to find. I live in USA. I have to wait like one month to order overseas?! This is my only transportation. So what do you do? The rep at Juiced is the one that told me (Marc) that the ebike sensor is only personal preference. Did you read that part? This is not something that I am considering on my own. I am wanting clarification because of what I was told by Marc at Juiced bikes.

Appreciate you trying to help me and linking me to tektro models. I will check them out and continue emailing companies. I had already tried to contact different retailers but many didn't reply one in UK replied for $300+ I'm sure I would have to pay for shipping. So far my messages to alibaba vendors, no reply. It's pretty frustrating.

I feel the same way that I would rather have the motor cut off sensor and honestly was pretty surprised that the rep told me that it's "personal preference" so that's why I mentioned it for further clarification as to what other people thought about this.

Having said all that looks like my star union front brake shipped today but I want to purchase a set of brakes as a backup. If my front went out one year later maybe my rear will go out in the near future as well.

I have a Juiced CrossCurrent Air, with CCS upgrade.
However, I still have cadence sensor, not torque sensor. I know that I may not be the good reference, but when I stop pedaling, the motor still propels for like 1 second.

For me, the motor inhibitor is must have. It's for safety. And yes, I can feel the big difference.
If you try to ride it with the motor inhibitor sensor (just unplug them) I suspect you will feel the difference.

Magura MT5e is a 4-piston ebike brake. It's a huge improvement over the OEM Star Union on my RCS, but not sure about Magura vs Tektro.

Did you put Magura on your RCS ? Also can you tell me what are the noticeable differences? Are you able to stop quicker or easier when you're going fast? Do the pads last longer? I have never used a bike with high end brakes like that so I'm curious.

Yes, I installed the Magura MT5e with a Magura MDR-C 180mm rotor on the front of my RCS and kept the Star Union hydraulic rear brake. The MT5e is a 4-piston hydraulic caliper with a 3-finger lever. You will also need the QM40 adaptor to fit the front caliper. There are other options for levers. I'm about 240lbs and my RCS is about 75lbs loaded, so there's a lot of bike to stop, especially down hill. I first noticed the OEM Star Union front caliper wasn't cutting it for me after a bike trip to the Green Mountains in Western MA where the Star Unions just couldn't handle the down hills. I tried different pads and a careful bleeding which didn't improve stopping power much. While I haven't been back to the Green Mountains since installing the Magura, I can say IMO, it's so far beyond the Star Union stopping capabilities that if you aren't dealing with my kind of weights, you may consider it overkill. In that case, there are 2-piston Magura calipers (MT5) that would probably work well for you, but the MT5e is considered an ebike brake system, whereas the MT5 I believe is not. Pads and bleed kits can be more costly than other companies b/c you must use Magura Royal Blood and their pads. Can't tell about pad wear yet b/c a back injury has kept me from riding a lot this year, but so far, so good. There are not a lot of pad material options and Magura does not talk about the compounds. There are some 3rd party pads out there, but not sure if they're any good.

Thought I would do the front first and if need be, do the rear, but the rear works fine for my type of riding. Plus, it's quite expensive.
