Where to get R&M parts?

Me and my wife have 2021 R&Ms, me a Superdelite & her a Homage. When we got her Homage over 4 months ago we discovered it did not come with the Fabric watterbottle mounting hardware just below the handlebars, like my Superdelite did. We then told the dealer we wanted them, and as they are custom to R&M they had to order them. Well its been 4 months, and the dealer still hasn't gotten us these 4 bolts/spacers. I've contacted them many times, but it sure seems like they don't care now that they have sold the bike, and I'm willing to bet that they never actually placed any order for them. Is there any place where I can order parts for R&M bikes where I actually can get service? I don't mind if I need to pay a bunch for shipping, I just need to be able to get a part somehow.

This is actually the 2nd R&M dealer I've worked with. I got my Superdelite from a different dealer, and had similar issues. I asked them to order a replacement charge port cover for my Superdelite a similar amount of time ago, and crickets since. Luckily for that part a nice person on these forums shipped me a better then OEM part from the EU. So, it doesn't look like this is a problem with just one dealer.

It's a problem you'll find in many industries as we're still in the middle of a global pandemic that continues to disrupt supply chains at every level while the largest spike in cases we've seen yet continues depleting the work force...

The part in question is an OEM part made by Fabric for R&M specifically. If you're having no luck with R&M dealers, I'd try contacting Fabric directly.

Yeah, I understand there are issues getting anything these days. But the dealer never even giving me order details or updates when I check in every few months is a compounding problem IMHO.

I did check with Fabric and they acted like it was something R&M makes not them. So they didn’t want to or couldn’t help. 🤷‍♂️

See "depleting the work force" above.

I'm sure you understand the complications caused by the pandemic in the abstract, but you don't seem to grasp the impact it's had on the daily operations of a shop and the way you're talking about all this comes off a bit tone-deaf and that's the last I'll say on this.

Available on eBay along with replacement parts. I had replacement lids from there before.

Actually those won’t work. Those bolts are normal bicycle water bottle size. They are too small of diameter for the R&M front rack/water bottle location. They also aren’t near long enough. If you get generic larger bolts, they won’t fit the plastic heads in that kit.
I had to buy longer bolts to go through the cargo box on my load 75 - I ended up using 5mm thickness 30mm bolts and they worked perfectly to go through the Fabric plastic heads when used with a washer and a matching nut on the other side (inside the cargo box). I actually posted a thread about it here. I had first tried 4mm thick bolts and they had more room than they needed.

Yeah, I admit my understanding is abstract as my industry isn’t really effected like most have been.

I’ve really tried (I thought), to give most people much more slack because of everything going on.

These two dealer interactions are the only interactions I’ve had with companies where they operate the way bike shops appear to do. Every other company when I order something they give you some kind of idea how long it will take to arrive, even if that is “backordered 🤷‍♂️“. Both of these bike shops didn’t do that. They both also couldn’t/wouldn’t? tell me the cost upfront. Every other place in modern society gives you a price up front (ignoring the healthcare industry), and order confirmation paperwork. Being short staffed doesn’t really account for this IMHO. Without paper proof I have an order pending, really makes me wonder if they actually made an order or not. It also makes is near impossible to call and check on the status, as every time you talk to someone new, and they don’t know what is going on. This is more of an issue with the company’s process or lack there of, instead of being short on staff.

There is a significant problem with global supply issue.

Many of my clients are finding this and some have commented that they place orders OK and are given a delivery date. The suppliers then keep changing the delivery date and these can be extended considerably. For example, for some electrical components, this has been changed from six weeks to two years.

I’ve been waiting on a set of laptop batteries since the fall, originally ordered in September for delivery October or early November, now hoping for February… and this is all having paid in full in advance. {Sigh}

I purchased these from Electric Avenue. Did you try the bottle bosses that come with the Fabric bottles? These should work or get the correct bolts from the hardware.

No reason why they didn't come with the purchased of my Nevo 3 with the factory front rack.

Here is the part number: 1.0 x R&M part nr. SBK0169
$29.48 USD

$29.48 USD plus taxes and shipping. This was last year price.

SBK0169 Fabric bottle custom bosses kit (for front rack), each kit has a set of 4 bosses, screws, spacers, and washers to install one front rack.

Purchased from Mark - nice sales person.

I reached out to Propel and got a response in 2 business days saying that they will ship to me by the end of the week. It’s great that they had them in stock, but even better that I could actually get a reply.

I've found the Propel folks extremely responsive and would not hesitate to buy another bike (or parts) from them.

In the UK, I use Fully Charged who are based in Silverstone, (home of the British Grand Prix).

Their service and attention to detail is very good, plus they are very helpful with any queries you may have.

Can thoroughly recommend them.

In our part of the world Electric Bikes Brisbane is the leader. As far as I can tell, they're comparable with Propel and Fully Charged.

EBB is obviously a thriving ebike-only business with competent staff and scores of ebikes on display (and many more in storage). Riese & Müller ebikes – the full range – take pride of place, with demonstration R&M models, supplied by the company, available for test rides.

Perhaps most significantly, the staff have direct access to key personnel in Germany. For example, when my Homage's Suntour rear shock failed and couldn't be replaced by that company's Australian distributor (blame it on Covid), R&M raided their stock and express-freighted a replacement to EBB.

Is there any lesson here? I think so: between the ebike rider (us) and the company (R&M) there needs to be an outstanding specialist ebike store (Propel, Fully Charged, EBB) which is supported by us (purchase + regular service).

Now that I come to think of it, my 2021 Homage Touring is well overdue for its next service! (Hope I'll be forgiven.)

I tried drilling the posts for the larger diameter bolts I purchased; didn't work. Contacted Fabric but they didn't seem to know anything about a set of bolts/posts that are R&M compatible. Finally ordered this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08D9MVF67/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 and was able to mount fabric bottle on handle bar, and it works well.
