What kind of grades can the Bafang 750 handle?

Hi all, I am trying to figure out if the Bafang 750 mid drive kit can handle the short but fairly steep hills to my house.

All the routes hill are under a mile and range in slope from 6% to 9% with small areas of grade that can be 14%-20% in those routes.

I am about 150lbs and at most would be carrying a backpack of groceries with me.

Can anyone give me any information on the kind of hills they have been able to climb or had trouble with using the 750 Mid drive?

Thanks!

Hi I have a 2014 bafang 750w in a 2004 foes and it goes up anything I put in front of it. I do have a 38T front chain ring instead of the factory 48T and I have a nuvinci N171 rear hub which is the best for hill climes, I've gone up a 45% grade off road not fast but at a steady 8km/h, on a 20-30% hill off road you can do about 25km/h, this is with no pedaling. but it all depends on the gear ratios and weight, I'm 90Kg The only thing you have to watch out for is chain tightness, it needs to be tight. As if it comes off it can jam in the front chain ring and then blows the controller if your using full power throttle only. It's a good idea to fuse the cable supplying the battery power with a 30a breaker that would hopefully stop it blowing.

Micklemax,

Thanks for the info, very helpful and thanks for the tip, did you just put your 30A breaker in between the battery and motor like you would with a car stereo?
