I have a Gazelle C8 HMB and ride with my OEM post approx 3 inch off the frame end . What is your experience with clearance, as in what is the minimum inch clearance one would need to mount this suspension post.
I use the Redshift 27.2 x 280mm on one of my bikes. When adjusted properly, I find it equal to the Kinekt 2.0 and slightly better than the Thudbuster ST.
Keep in mind, the Redshift shaft can not be cut to shorten since part of the mechanism is inside the post.
If you go with the Redshift, I recommend the dust boot to keep debris out of the mechanism. It will extend the useful life of the suspension if you ride in dusty locations.
Yeah, I have one. I went with the shorter post because I knew I would never have the need to raise it up much.
On my bike with the stock seat, the post's minimum height was too high. As it was, I was in the process of waiting for a new seat and the new seat's rails tucked in real close to the seat itself and it bought me a ton of room to raise the seat post. Even the shape of my new seat bought me some more room.
Redshift always have sales on their website. Don't pay full price for one. If you require a shim, Redshift has 'em. Just determine the one you need and order it along with the post.
You have the luxury now of sending it to a Sumas WA P.O. address and brokering it thru by yourself to save more $$. When I bought, Covid was in full force and I had to send it up here. In addition, Kinekt is based in Bellingham if you want to get one of their posts. There are lots of people on here with suspension posts.
I'm in Langley if you want to check out one first. CN
