Just kidding! Got some street tires for my Hydra bikes. First set are 27.5 X 2.4 Schwalbe Super Moto’s. Next are Vee Tire Apache Fatty Slicks in 26 X 4.5. Both tires should be super fast with low rolling resistance.

Want to scare yourself? Add up all the miles you've got to ride now to use all of these sets of tires to capacity. :)

They're will be times when those will be just what's called for.....and what a pleasant ride that will be.

Those Apaches look good but they ride like s**t.
Put at least 25-30psi in them or you will have extreme self-steer
They are also very wide (4.9 on a 100mm rim) Can't shift in to the lowest gear anymore.

Mine are on 80mm Sunringle’s. I knew these run large so I stayed with the 80mm rim. As of now I have the tires inflated to 20 psi. I’ll start there and keep adjusting until I get a pressure I like.

Tried some other tires today.

27.5x4.5 45NRTH Vanhelga 80mm rims
Great tire, feels much more like a mountainbike. Very agile!

26x4.8 Jumbo Jim (26X4.4 rear - no chain rub)

26x4.5 Apache Slicks 100mm - look cool but even with 30psi they feel strange.

I’ve heard good and bad things about the fatty slicks. I’ll give them a try and if I don’t like them I’ll swap them out for something different.

I love the Vee Tire Apache Fatty Slicks, love to throw one on the rear of my cheetah. I replaced the front w/ a VEE zig zag that I was lucky to find for $26 new, only wish it would had been a white wall.does anyone know if the 4.5 fatty fit the 4 rim. I also picked up a origin8 rim that I’m hoping to set up w/ chrome hub and spokes to get that old style mc look for the cheetah

You mention no chain rub on one of those sets. Does that mean the others have it?

The Apaches 4.5 and the Jumbo Jims 4.8 had a rubbing chain.
But I replaced the rear 4.8 JJ with a 4.4 JJ to avoid chain rub. That worked.
Thats only with the 100mm rims.
I'm sure that the problem won't occur on 80mm rims.

That’s why I only went as wide as 90mm (I have two sets of rims) for the bike. I wanted to try and shove Vee Tire Snowshoe 2XL’s on the bike on 80mm wheels but after speaking with Pushkar I abandoned the idea. They may fit but most likely would have chain rub issues.

So no issues with the 27.5 4.5s?
