What exactly does this setting do? (I-Go Advanced Menu)

I am trying to tweak my bike, and do not fully understand what this setting does:

Can you please explain more clearly what it changes? The number goes very high >255, and also to zero. I do not notice a big difference either way. Is it s delay settings for assist? Not actual assist level?
