What driver under new Vado SL Sunrace cassette?

there is absolutely nothing wrong with turning the motor off. long press on top button on top tube, all three segments of light in the ring will turn off. the bike was designed to be ridden this way. i’ve in fact ridden my creo 99% motor off in the last few months.

i leave the electronics on, so the bike’s sensors are on, and the assist is available at the press of a button if needed.

bike on, motor off.
It can be confusing coming up with a term to describe having the bike's overall power ON (including to the motor) but dropping the motor out of the equation in a kind of idling state.

Not. Assistance off. "Turning the motor off" suggests turning the system off. And we Vado SL riders have the handlebar remote, which you do not have on the Creo :)

Instead of turning the motor off, just depress the handlebars' remote "-" button until all the LEDs on the TCU "circle" go off. It is a level down the ECO. The system will remain alive (with all ride recording) but the motor won't support you anymore.
(It is similar to driving the car downhill: you never switch the engine off, you just do not depress the accelerator).

The TCD will work properly if you switch the assistance OFF but keep the system ON.
Thanks for the good explanation.

stefan, the “motor” is separate from the electronics, sensors, etc. turning the motor off does not suggest turning the entire bike off just as a car’s engine can be stopped without the radio turning off. take the key out, now the entire car is off. with assist off the motor is in fact off. there is no current running through its windings - the definition of “off” from a electrical sense. perhaps this is a language issue but turning the “bike” off is different then turning the “motor” off.

I still find the language or issue fuzzy. Initially I did not know you could turn off only the motor. That should be in some quick start guide. Of course, using the top tube thingie, I'd occasionally pressed wrong and did turn off ALL power rather than just the motor. Now have the Creo remotes so that does not happen.

It is simpler to say we're switching the assistance off than making the doctor degree on the terminology.
