What and where can I find this screw/bolt?

A machine screw that's too long is easily remedied with an angle grinder (or hacksaw, but that's the hard way). Clean up the threads at the end with a small needle file. Don't have one? They are cheap at Harbor Freight. To get the thread pitch right, take one with the correct pitch with you. Match up by putting them side by side. The threads should neatly mesh together. If not, you have the wrong pitch.

There are only so many sizes and thread pitches available. It would be very unusual for a manufacturer to use custom sizes, as this would be expensive and inefficient. Everybody uses standard fastenings whenever possible.
 
Apologies for the late reply but I found the screw, the one that fit was M05x10mm. Although it was slightly shorter it tightened well.
