My thoughts from my first rides

I like the bike. I went 102 miles on the 2nd ride thought I was doing 80. It exhumes quality. It is fast, I hit mid 30s on a couple speed tests while riding. It is powerful! Hills are no longer taken into consideration.1 spot on my ride at 36 miles are some steep hills . Other ebikes will go up but take effort , no real effort needed with this bike.this was my current turn around point for 72 mile trip because of the effort and battery use. No longer .

I have a few nit picks which I would change. I still would like a built in battery frame styled bike when it is made.

the front shock is fancy probably over kill for me but seems to give a nice ride on flat surfaces

the brakes are Magura 7s probably over kill but I can appreciate good brakes, I think I would keep them

Kindernay shifting works well for me , thought I would be compromising but no, I like it a lot. If the electronic ever becomes available I would upgrade

I read some on the possible adjusting of power with external wire and such. I think I old like to try some other people versions postted for even smoother power delivery. I would like the pedal assit to come on a little earlier I think

The throttle is not smooth at all times, some thing I can live with but would pay extra for improved performance. I am not a big throttle user so again not a major issue.

I think I would rather access the torque sensor and adjust for a lighter pedal touch. Anyone have a Stromer with the torque sensor adjustment ? or any other bike with this adjustment? I want to feel like I am on slight decline . There is plenty of power , just too much pressure required on the pedals for my taste.

i would like another gear on the top end, I keep pushing the gear shift even though I am in the top gear, maybe another cog
in the drive train? I am not trying to go faster but pedal slower at the same speed. i start clown pedaling earlier then others I believe

I ran out of 3 batteries after 102 miles or so , need a little more range . I think I can carry more batteries weight wise on the rack but bigger batteries are always appreciated, . The batteries fit my bags perfectly upside down in the bottom leaving a nice flat surface for clothes and fruit

i would order less aggressive pedal to save my shoes

the bike is not loud at all exceeded my expectations

it didn’t come with a bell, lights so no comments on them but I think they will added.

the bike feels nimble to me, more so then my other bikes , feel the weight even less when moving.

my seat is bottoming out on the Kinetic seat post, needs adjustment ?

the fan on the 10 amp charger is louder then normal.work great though.

I have not read any manuals yet , need to learn Bafang display and front shock adjustment

Last comment is the motor has plastic guards with tabs to grab them on each side which seem like shipping protectors, should they be pulled off?

I haven’t spoken with Pushkar so keep this in mind , he hasn’t seen my thoughts yet

Wow, you folks and your hellaciously long rides...I'm impressed.

I have been using the Kinect seat post for a couple of months. At first I had too light of springs in (I ordered according to their recommendations for weight) and bottomed out a bunch on rides. I put in a heavier spring on the outer, easiest to access spring and that solved it. Kinect has a youtube vid up on how to do this.

On the seat post, I have had them for years and never adjusted one properly. It got more this way when I moved it forward to get closer to the handlebars and tightened up the sag. I am about 195 -200 lbs plus a water bag of 1.5 liters .

i would like to get the handle bars raised and revisit this after readjusting. I tend to agree the weight recommendation seem off to me also.

nature, music , gorgeous world class 100 mile trail, long ride? don’t even notice, retired, everyday is Saturday

And maybe better than Sat. I started taking Thursday off to ride. Weekends are far more busy on the vacation area trails near me.

On the weekends I always head out away from the city. I tend to be quiet and just ride, missing my bell, having to talk to people, even just saying “on the left “ No thanks. Lol. When not riding I will talk your ear off about ebikes though

I have never posted a picture here always an issue with something I do. I gave up. Pretty funny that I was a computer tech before I retired…imagine a standard WW UC With no lights or bell and now dirt on it, ripped panniers and a slightly heavy, bearded, older rider with rippped jacket , black long underwear (won’t wear sunscreen on legs or arms) and dorky wind screen on my helmet straps, TMI?

Single or dual battery?

The UC is an ext battery only , don’t know there was a 2 battery option unless rear rack? This is a single battery with a spare in each of the panniers.

Another 105 yesterday , AL line and back home. Seem to run a little smoother and quicker , maybe loosening up some. The rear tire has been rubbing slightly I noticed when I came home maybe after the tire wore down it isnt touching any more? Had a little more battery left at the end of the ride. Steadier riding less childish speed bursts most probable cause

had a funny drive train incident where it was like in between gears for 50 ft or so. Turned off as I was at 1st stop 3 miles from home (“readjust point” for clothing , checking bags closed lights on etc.) after turning back on tested and tried to duplicate and no issues including rest of trip.

My seats seems to slide when tight , I would like a quick release for it anyway but I hope I can get it to stop.

while the motor is quiet enough there seems to be a little more noise when coasting from the rest of the drive train, not loud but mer ratching/clicking from the rear and the motor so 2 areas designed for this to be able to coast and pedal properly

it got even dirtier! Grrr

I've seen a second battery on the top tube.
I take it you cycled with 3 batteries, 1 on the down tube and 2 in panniers.
What was the V/Ah per battery?

I do not know but I think they are 17 amp hours ,hope they 48 but think they are 52. I think there are the same as the original external for Helios, any members know? I dont have the manual for the display and haven’t checked yet for online or at WattWagon so I don’t know how to dig out power usage yet.

Deacon, thanks! it really is simple , retire! In retirement what will you do? Think about it…me , ride a bike every other day after morning rituals of get up , make coffee , read internet, start getting ready to ride around 10, leave 1030-1100. Ride.. breaks to eat fruit, rest and swap batteries, get home at 6-8 depending on supportive wife, bike used and weather. Usually fall asleep early at night after rides over 90. Next day is honey do and rest …repeat

Supportive wife rides and will do over 50 mile trips when healthy. We got a nice exercise bike for her which is easier on her some days depending on what body part is sore. So far if I get a bike she gets a bike same make and model…

this is the Alabama-Georgia state line viewed from the AL side into Ga. It is the Chief Ladiga trail which is about 34miles long into Al and the Ga side is about 61.5 miles and connects to Atlanta trails. This picture is the turn around point for me about 52 miles from home.

no real ride today , dentist and shopping errands but I did get my wonderful wife to ride this way too big bike for her to test the Kindernay shifting to see if she could work it. She had a Stromer ST2s (still here limping along) which had a DI2 electronic shifting , soft touch buttons for shifts for her sore thumbs. The bike passed as is so I will be ordering one same specs as mine after I make my changes with Pushkar. I am waiting to hear from my brother if Trek Allant 7+ will work for him or we sell it and order a third one .

I posted this saying I wanted thumbnails only I thought, apologies to those with data issues.

my wife had a rare silver st1 from 2013 (maybe even a Sport older version) She called it the Silver Streak. She loved the bike if not just for the color alone but they took it and replaced with a working newer model lol but never made that silver again , gray yes on her st2s but not the nice silver, it never saw the Silver Comet Trail unfortunately…I don’t name mine so far.

Is that POS running today? Called it POS more than anything else lmao

This will be a tool like a screw driver or hammer, it isnt about the bike but what it does with me riding it many miles, don’t want to fight multiple error codes, performance glitches that can’t be found, soft brakes after being fixed for soft brakes and it goes on…this I won’t notice just ride it , no chain to clean , puncture resistant tires with internal Tanus protection and goes on, low maintenance and more ride time
