Want to add pegs to my Lectric XP 1.0

Ok, I have an original XP 1.0 and I would like to add pegs. I have seen some other mods done BMX style that have included rear pegs but they have to cut the pegs and allow room for the motor wire to come through the peg. I see there are two nice size mounting points directly above the axle on the frame, would these be ok to mount my pegs to?

so you can see exactly above the axle and seems like it would support it.
