Wallke 750w rear hub motor with CYC X1 Pro mid drive

I am a owner of the Wallke x3 pro. After 2 month the bike needs more power as I am not able to climb steep hills or steep dirt roads. The bike is lacking power. I am thinking about upgrading the rear motor with a 1500w motor from ebikling kit. What are your thoughts and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I have a 1500w geared hub that I modded to around 1700. So I would suggest if you have the need for speed, you go even bigger like 2k.
On the other hand the motor you show looks like a direct drive and your bike looks most like it has a geared hub, so you probably should go with a bigger "geared hub".

You will more than likly need to update you controller and display.
 
What are your thoughts for adding a separate system. I am thinking of adding a mid drive system. My goal is just not just speed but to able to go up steep mountain roads and pull a trailer around 100 lbs.
 
Do it, just do not be HP crazy, the bike transmission will only stand so much. The thing is some of these replacement motors can gobble a lot more power and have very little extra torque, what you will get in all probability is more speed( at the expense of battery drain, your goals are pretty "lofty", you may be better served with something like a "SurRon", now if you were to add a couple of hub motors and battery to the trailer you might be surprised. It certainly can be done, the more weight you can keep off the bike the more nimble it will. The claims for some of these"hunting bikes" seem rather dubious. You keep on adding this and that you will finally end up with an unreliable something heavier than a motorcycle, weight matters, I have seen the bafang hub motored front wheels( 45 nm torque take offs for less than $50, 2 of these and a 20ah battery should pull the trailer along pretty smartly.
I have interest in such thing at this late stage in the game after finally figuring out how to build my "Moonbuggy"( E-Quadracycle) probably will never build it if my modified Fattire off road bike does the job.
 
You will more than likly need to update you controller and display.
You could always go for a 52 or 60 volt battery( if the controller will stand it) a word to the wise- do you really want to crash into a deer or another person going 32-35 mph? Do the force calculation your body will yield.
As the builder kit site said" How you build is up to you".

What I am seeing in the pic is a geared hub motor. You are asking about replacing that motor with a direct drive motor, right? I think you're going to be REALLY disappointed with that move. Serious climbing power is going to require more than just more watts. It's going to involve gearing...

Direct drive motors like the one in your first pic are NOT noted for their hill climbing ability. For more climbing power, you're going to want to go with either a bigger/more powerful geared hub (which will almost certainly require a more powerful controller), or maybe a mid drive. Regarding the potential to add a mid drive to what you have, I think the weight of the resulting bike is going to get out of hand. If you want a mid drive, which is unquestionably going to climb better, I would suggest you consider selling the bike you have and buying/building a mid drive. Maybe something using a Bafang BBSHD. You won't find anything much more durable or more powerful.

The bottom line becomes how much time and money do you want to devote to this idea?

Why not just add another hub, so you will have 2 wheel drive? Even a small twin motor system will give you very good hill climbing ability.
BTW, same sized geared hubs, are better at climbing hills than direct drive, due to the planetary gear system.

Now I am leaning towards leaving the stock system alone and adding a independent front wheel motor and making it 2wd. I am seeing on youtube companies selling 2wd ebikes and others installing a front wheel kit. Anyone here have any experiences riding or building one?

I don't know if mine is geared hub. I am totally new to ebikes. My ebike has the setting to 1-3 power assist and can even customize the setting to 1-5. Here is issue when I am climbing at the 2 speed setting and when set it at 3 the motor does absolutely nothing more.

I have 750w in the rear and if I went with 1200w in the front would there be any issues. How can I make them work together. Is there a switch that I can connect to one throttle so that rear is always connected and the front I can switch on or off?

From the size of your 750 w motor, I can say it is a geared hub . The video I later linked, shows how to wire the two motors.

Its hard to find a fat front wheel geared hub motor kit anywhere. Does it exist? or do I build with motor from scratch?
