Vruzend 52v charger

Has anyone here have had this happen. First let me start by saying that after seeing their support for Veterans and as a vet myself, I decided to support the small business by placing an order with them. Now, after receiving the 52v charger from vruzend, not only was I disappointed, but I felt offended. Ok , so first pic is what they advertise on their website and the second pic on top is a charger I purchased from Amazon and on the bottom is what I received from Vruzend, doesn’t take a GED to see what they have done with a couple of stickers. I have sent them two emails without any response. To me is nothing but the common “bait and switch”.

Overpriced products & knock offs are common problems often discussed here. Another issue is quality which is very important. Faulty chargers can cause lithium battery fires.
If you aren't happy with the products, try returning both if you can.

Many of us here prefer to spend the extra $ for a high quality programmable charger.

small businesses can’t compete with Amazon. I’m seeing items there that cost my former shop more at dealer prices.

Shops adding their label is not unusual.

One of the motivating factors leading to my resigning from eBike customer support were exactly as you posted. Customer’s expecting the mom and pop shops to compete with Amazon.
An email from my support account did land in my account today. A fellow ordered on a Sunday night and 4 hours before shop opening today wanted the shipping status.

With Bafang a dealer covering warranty eats the failed components. Nothing from Bafang.
Who can compete with a multibillion dollar company that can compete with NASA?

Thank You for the info, very helpful. I understand small business can not compete with Big businesses like Amazon, with that being said, you would think they would go make sure you receive what you order so they have the customer come back, but I guess if vruzend decided to screw ppl over they don’t care much.. My question is, I’m I right about the bait and switch ? I’m sure from the pics I posted you clearly see what’s offer compared to what you get. I m interested in your thoughts about the fact. The Satiator is the high-reliability option, with a graphic front end thrown onto it via that screen of theirs. But they want big bucks for it. You can have the same ultra reliable technology (MTBFs literally in the 200,000 hour range) along with IP65 water resistance for a lot less.

I have had nothing but disappointment and in some cases near-catastrophic failures from fan-driven Chinese chargers. They are notoriously unreliable and most of them - regardless of the label on the outside - come from China. I do a LOT of charging so my duty cycle uncovers a lot more failures a lot more quickly than the normal user. I racked up 3 before (in all cases it was the charger failing to cut off and keeping the current flowing) I went to the chargers linked below. Recently I bought into using lab power supplies at 3 locations and they were wonderful. Until the youngest one of them failed a few days ago. Just stopped powering up. $100 each. And I knew better. My Mean Wells have all been running for years without issue.

As for Vruzend... where was the bait/switch? I don't see anywhere a "Made in USA" or a "we designed it" kind of statement. They advertised a 52v/3a charger - which at $37 is absolutely dirt cheap - and ... you got a cheap charger with a Vruzend decal on it. Not something I would buy but then again I am a few years into this hobby and I've already learned this stuff the hard way.

I'm not rying to belittle you or your feelings here, but I don't see how you were misled. Also I went to the Vruzend site and nowhere do they make any claims as to the charger's origin. I did see their ad copy treated the fan as if it was some kind of an extra that is special in some way, which is nonsense. Its a sign of a cheaper product that is less reliable and needs a fan to keep from roasting itself.

If I were you I'd treat it as a learning experience and build one. As long as you do quality connection work it'll never fail on you.

Yeah, I don’t take things like this personal, so everything is good.. for me , when I order online , I expect to get what’s picture period. I have ordered lots mostly Amazon, eBay, and AliExpress which if something like this happen from AliExpress I would not bother with it at all! So baited by a imo decent looking charger switch and got a pos. Honestly, you don’t see that.<rhetorical question..duh.. I spent almost 10 years in the Army and met folks from all walks of live and one thing of course of many that I learned is that you can asked two ppl what color is the sky and you will get two different answers.. I asked for opinions and you gave yours which I respect and let’s move on.. thank You

A Grin Satiator for $70-80? As i linked above? I will never run a 72V battery so I ordered the 48V good for my 36, 48, and 52V batteries. My newest bikes are 36V. To old for too fast!!

Never to old for the need of speed..my cheetah prowl’s close 27 and I want more speed, and by the way I’m old to, going on 56..I got it mixed up, though you were talking about the mean well kit. I got lucky the first batt 48v 14 was not charging and after a few vids so they can see that it was the batt they upgrade up to 17 free of charge and was told to trash the 14, well it was the beginning of my ebike therapy and found out the cost of batteries, seen a few vids, research and I purchase a $13 BMS and fix it. Got a dual battery gizmo running parallel. And now 48v 14 being converted to 52v, I’m idle cause the darn spot welder when +!+s up( I do apologize if I offended) once I get this second spot welder dialed in , finish the 14 and start on converting the 17 to 52v too..that’s why I’m searching for a good charger and thankful for the folks that contributed in steering me in the right direction. Thank You

I ordered the same model. My batteries are 48 and 52V. I see no reason to get a 72V charger.

The Satiator was supposed to be delivered yesterday but the shipment was delayed due to weather.

on a factory second 36 to 72 v 5 a model that didn’t pass their water ingress test. Unless you have an application for direct bike mount, this isn’t really an issue for most people. You also need to order at least one battery jack adapter dongle which also has a plug for a usb interface (another separate cable). On my older model 4808 version (36 - 52 v 8a) , I’ve found the computer interface cable useful because occasionally the front panel button interface for reprogramming the unit freezes up. Cheapest shipping to USA is via DHL, around 25 bucks extra, but no tax charged.
