VADO 5.0 2022 and later Model Question

I have a very early 2022 Specialized Vado 4.0 and I am approaching 10k miles on it. I love the bike but little things are starting to go wrong with it (rear light going out, MCU replacement) so I am considering purchasing a new 5.0.

However I am wondering why the specifications are different between these two bikes.

For those in the know which one would you choose and why?

The first one is an older model without the suspension seat-post. It is based on a SRAM groupset. The battery is not UL certified.
The second one has a suspension seat-post, the latest Shimano CUES groupset and the battery is UL certified.

The choice of the second model is a no-brainer :)

There is, however, a small detail. The older model has a 40 T chainring while the newer one is 48T. The older model is a better climber if no modification is being made. The newer model is designed for fast commutes in a flat area. The chainring can be always replaced, though.

Just ordered a Satin Seafoam 5.0! My old battery only has 170 cycles on it so I am looking forward to some century rides now that I can swap out the batteries mid ride!

FWIW, I have a 2015 Bosch powered FeltElecrtric. It comes with a 400wh battery.

At around 3,000 hours, I had the battery rebuilt by Hi-C company of Denver. Because batteries have become smaller, they were able to pack enough additonal Batteries, which bumped it up to 500 wh.

You can verify this at [email protected]. That was done in 2021, and I think I paid $500 to have it done.

I recommend it, as Bosch vendors charge up to $6-700 for jusf the 400 Powerpak batteries.

As I read the discussion, it was about batteries, and dealing with aging batteries.
Wrong. The discussion was solely about the difference between an older and a newer model of Vado 5.0. Nothing else.
You have probably posted in a wrong thread. I ask you to read the first 11 posts then delete your own and apologise.

STEPHAN threw the first stone here, not I.
I can see you have significant issues with your sight. First you think the thread was about Bosch batteries then you cannot make a difference between "f" and "ph". A good eye doctor could help :)
 
Picked up the new Vado 5.0 today and I have to say after 8k miles on a 4.0 I am so glad I spent the extra money.
