Vado 3.0 New Motor for 2020

The Vado 3.0 for 2020 has a new motor the 1.2E, it is a Class 1- Max speed is 20 miles per hour. Torque is 50 Nm, Power 415 W. The 1.2 and the 1.2S are the same motors. The price of the 2020 Vado 3.0 was reduced $550.00 from the 2019, that is the reason why. This info is not published by Specialized and most dealer do not know.

The Vado 3.0 for 2019 had a 1.2 motor, Class 3 -Max speed 28 miles per hour. Torque is 85 Nm, Power 520 W.

I just bought the Vado 4.0 because of the change in the 3.0 it has the 1.2 motor. I will receive it Friday.
I’m considering the 4.0. Thanks for the info.

I have a 2020 Vado 3.0 with the 1.2e motor and it is a Class 3 bike.
I picked up my new 2020 Turbo Vado 3.0 about a week ago. It came with a "Class 1" sticker attached. Yesterday on a one-mile clear and flat freshly paved straight-away I was pleasantly surprised to hit 29.6 mph. The assist did not cut off and I felt I could have sustained the speed for some time if I needed. No way I could have hit that speed without assist. So even with the downgrade in torque with the 1.2e motor, I was able to go above 28 mph with obvious assist. Why was the bike labeled "Class 1"? Very confusing. Maybe Specialized tweaked the software? Maybe complaints from confused customers like myself forced their hand? Maybe Court was given the wrong info from Specialized? At any rate I suppose it's gratifying to know the 2020 Vado 3.0 is most likely a Class 3 bike and one can hit 28+ MPH even with a 9 speed group. Love the bike! The forum has been fun to read. Wow, gotta go for a ride! Stay safe and well.

That's interesting since mine has a Class 3 sticker and assists past 20 mph
Just picked up my Vado 3.0 last week and can definitely confirm assist past 20mph all the way up to 28mph and was able to grind out 29.6 mph and still feeling like it was going strong. My bike came with a Class 1 sticker attached. Very confusing, but glad for the vicarious knowledge that the 2020 3.0 is most likely a class 3 pedalec.

I've had my 2020 Turbo Vado 3.0 for a little over a week now. Initially I found a "Class 1" sticker in my kit bag. Thanks to this forum I finally looked down at the very front bottom of the seat tube and discovered the "Class 3" sticker. Not sure why I had the Class 1 sticker in my kit bag, resulting in my initial confusion about the Vado 3.0 "Class". ( Also purchased my wife a new discounted 2019 Turbo Como 2.0 and her seat tube sticker shows "Class 1".) I took the Vado for a speed run yesterday and managed to crank it up to 29.6 mph on a flat newly paved 1 mile straight-away. It was some extra effort but no way I could have done this on a non-assisted bike. Wish Specialized provided more details on the performance of the different Vado models. Love the bikes and we are having a wonderful time touring and getting in some exercise.
