I have found that my VADO , when battery gets to 5%, the motor cuts out, then when at 4% motor starts working again. Anyone else?

Yes, all batteries at those low levels will not perform the same as those in the say: 20 to 80% range.

Current year Vados cut the motor at 5% to reserve the last bit of battery for the running lights. Can't say why your motor is again powered at 4% but running the battery this low costs you battery life in terms of charge cycles. It's best to keep the battery at 20% minimum though I have also been know to get below this...😔

Thanks for the reply. I believe this is a safety issue. I have been going up hill to just before my house and the battery cuts our at 5%. I just about fell over since I was going very slow up a hill and had to clip out. The power cutting out at 5% then starting back up, has happened more than once. If it is design intent, I think Specialized should make customers aware.

Vados have always cut off at 5%. I always take that into account when calculating the battery range.
P.S. The lighting stays on and the bike computer still works.

Thanks for the reply. Now that I have a new battery, I can carry the original battery with me on long runs, so I can switch out when about 20% left. That is assuming I get my VADO 1.0 broken frame repaired/replaced. I live in a very hilly area, which I enjoy, but the battery gets drained quickly some times.

Well Specialized came through big time with a replacement VADO 5.0 for my 1.0! I guess my LBS told them that I needed the bike for therapy, which is true, since I am taking chemo every week for many years. I guess they took pity on me. I have been without my ebike for a month. I used my wife's old bike and had to walk the hills. I am looking forward to my first ride tonight on a new VADO 5.0!.
